  • Thanks!

  • You may get more responses if you cut the crap in the begining.

  • My primary relationship to nature is I consider 'my' life to be nature itself, arising from nature, composed of nature and returning to nature. All things, physical, mental, spiritual, concepts of 'self', are merely nature. To regard oneself as nature is harmony, enlightenment and freedom from existential suffering.

  • OK - I am sorry I missed your meaning.

Sadly if the majority of people continue to releive themselvs of their self centeredness by bringing more self centered overly consumptive people with an infinate sense of entitlement onto this planet...the systems that support their 'selfless' act will collapse. I think we see this differently.

  • Jane. "The systems support their 'selfless' act will collapse". I think we see this the same. "Infinite sense of entitlement". I think we see this the same. That it can be any other way? I think we see this differently. There will be some tough lessons before humanity can learn. Hopefully, the lesson will not be too tough but it could be.

  • This will apprear out of order

Though that said I don't mind having it pointed squarely at my western lifestyle...which is rapidly changing -downshifting.

  • I thank you for your thought provoking questions- see my purpose made video response.

As for the debate about cultural "guilt"- there is not excusing what some cultures do to our planet. But NONE of us, with computers, now have ANY excuse to sustain the burden on the planet. We are better educated and no one culture can be asked to deal with the past. We MUST move forward as global citizens so let's not make excuses for any society today. Peace out!

  • Oh- and I made some funny judgement calls about interpretation on your video- I didn't READ the questions but only listened. Hehe- so for the one I so clearly did not answer "right"- am I am animal. Yep, in the nicest possible way. At the top of the food chain and trying to be responsible about it! LOL!

  • HA! Yes I totally agree with your perspective... Western advanced industrial economies have done the most harm -ABSOLUTELY- our one advantage is these economies are also about moving quickly -and there is a thriving environmental movement here - once something is understood it is possible to change ...anyway can't wait to see your response! Thank you!

  • I don't like how the replies do not show under the one one is replying to... LOL! Spanner in works here- notably the biggest current burden to the planet is China. Not a Western civilisation at all... So- what I meant to say to all watching is that we cannot pin this on any ONE culture. We must all, with the knowledge we possess, bear the burden of what has gone before. We are all culpable.

  • China is not 'western' culturally but it is an 'advanced industrial economy' ...yes I think 'culture'is the wrong thing... there are thousands of -subcultures in the US - and it's pluralism encourages this...

  • i dont want to offend. But i think that the the europeans natural inclination is go against nature. the european meaning white man/woman. they not all put pollution in that air we breathe. poison in the water we must drink. they to me studying their history and present seem not have any morality to appeal to.

  • I think gross generalizations are not useful. What is your ethnicity? Are you writing this on a computer - which is one of the most toxic appliances we humans have made...Perhaps it would be wise to study the environmental movement as well.

You don't offend me, but I think it's very easy to make broad claims.

  • african diasporan. if you look at my statement i said not all. but the europeans rules the world right now. who created the computer. not we the european. i can bring facts to back up all my statements about the african and the european.

  • I think you should stop using evil Europoean creations to spread you belief ( though I think the computer would be impossible without higher math - which I think can be credited to North Africans', Arabs etc...)

So rather than just go down this path unfruitfully - let us agree now. All that is bad in the world that is apparent was created by people who left Africa and went north - and all that is good in the world was created by those that stayed in Africa and the south.

  • i glad you made three inaccuarate statements. we created math with the people from khemet. when i say european i mean the colonial powers that killed 450 millions africans and continues to keep its grip on africa with neo-colonialization. the european that 100 million native americans. killed of the aboriginal of so-called austrilia. the list goes on.

  • On that we agree. It is grave injustice and where it can be rectified it should. So where does that leave us?

  • it leave your people in power. us holdin the short end of the stick

  • my people? what are you doing to change the dynamic? I've worked all my life not to accept the status quo. What needs to be done, you tell me?

  • yes the european. i am educating myself. after k-12 brainwashing i have just learned of my my true history. im trying to eliminae alot of the self-hatred that blacks have. i want to get my degree so i can educate others. i think we as a people need to change. with our real and true word of God first. with true education not training. if the european wans to do the right thing than okay.but i wont hold my breath.

  • Jane. Children? My opinion. Having children allows people to mature, to grow in generosity, compassion, reduction in self-centeredness and the agitation of sexual instincts. So if one chooses not to have children, it is beneficial to still contribute to the world so the above qualities of 'maturity' can be developed. An extreme example is Mother Theresa of Calcutta. She had no children but gave love and care to so many people. The world is very complex, not much innocence.

  • The self centerdness of those who chose to be childless is a myth. People ignore the fact that 30,000 children die a year from malnutrician and treatable disease. I think it is rather self centered in fact to want kids so that 'your' genetic material survives-- with this reality in mind.

  • ooops - thats A DAY not a year...

  • Jane. You have misunderstood my meaning. It is important for people to free themselves from self-centredness. For most, having children is the only way. For folks like you and me, having children is not for us, however it is beneficial for us develop altruism. As one example, I sponsor three children in Africa. I am supporting 'your' malnourished children. It is the same as having children but different. It is empathy.

  • african diasporan. if you look at my statement i said not all. but the europeans rules the world right now. who created the computer. not we the european. i can bring facts to back up all my statements about the african and the european.

  • nice idea!
