I love Tim, he is such a cool guy, always focused, always cool, he never loses his temper and I think what really gave him his stardom is the fact he doesn't even want it. He just play to help his teammates better players and for the team, not for him, and in the end that is what makes him the better guy even when the Spurs lose. There is no other PF in history (fuck so called "legends") better than Duncan, no other has proved in every aspect of the game being better than Tim.

Oberto actually isn't bad (he had one of the best shooting %s in the playoffs) but he rarely gets play time. Kurt Thomas is great defensively (that's why they got him) but what I think they need is 1-2 good SG/SFs that can score and help out Ginobli when Duncan and Parker are off. The Spurs should be something like.. 1st unit: Thomas Duncan Bowen Decent SG (which they dont have) Parker 2nd Unit: Oberto Decent PF (dont have) Good SF that can score (Finley cant do shit anymore) Ginobli Hill

Tim Duncan is an incredible player with a great heart and desire to win. Most of players don't realize when the game becomes a battle between men and kids. Duncan knows it and everytime proves hes one of the greatest.

The spurs are also the best combination of winning characters in the league with people like Pops & Manu. I think they will be candidates as long as Timmy stays health and this means they could win more championships before his retirement.

Wrong! Put Kevin Garnett on those great Spurs teams and Tim Duncan on those awful Timber Wolves teams and you'd see the exact same results. Duncan is the better interior defender, while Garnett has better range and shooting touch, there almost identical aside from that. Tim Duncan had a ton of help in the their first round battles, and that's why the Minnesota couldn't get out of the first round, anyone who knows the game knows this to be fact.

And Garnett had some help too, with terrell brandon and joe smith in their primes, aside from robinson Duncan had as much help as garnett! And Robinson wasn't even in his prime!

I'd take the Admiral on his last leg any day over Smith and Brandon on their best! The difference is character. Garnett could have won with those guys too... but, he wanted too much money, which limited his franchise to obtain role players of that caliber. Duncan knew that he was going to win he'd have to sacrifice, so he did, on the court, and on the paper.

@punkrawkgangsta yeah, also david robinson, tony parker, ginobilli and gregg popovich were part of duncans sacrifice too. haha, duncan just was at the right plance in the right time. duncan and KG are basically the same player only KG is more athlethic and versatille. he was just lucky enough cause ginobili turned out the biggest draft steal of all time and parker aint too far away either. and there was no admiral for KG. talent-vise, i would choose KG, but career-vise duncan.

@kocka6angelot lol David Robinson was averaging like 16 points when Duncan got on the team. Robinson still had the defensive presence, but the offense was Duncan's. It was Duncan's team. Duncan made his team better by being a dominant post up player. KG likes to shoot a lot more jumpers than Duncan. KG has broader talent than Duncan, but he didn't have the dominant effect where the defense would double team KG often, that was Duncan, only other player at the time that had the same effect Shaq.
