I liked this movie but i didn't love it nowhere near as much as Casino Royale. i thought that there were some actions scenes that were unnecessary like near the end when they had that plane chase sequence and there were also just one too many chase sequences in general. Quantum of Solace was not the worst and not the best Bond film. it had great action scenes which was the car chase at the opening of the film, James bond chasing the double agent in the Italian streets and the Opera scene.

I couldn't connect with this movie at all. I didn't care if Bond lived, died, shagged the girl, shagged a pony, had a kewl action sequence, had a bowel movement. I just couldn't care. The directing was more of a distraction than an aid to the story.

prob worst bond flick ever, it had potential a very big potential but i watched it 3 times and i couldnt get my head round that its a 007 flick. my review cant even me articulate coz id be wasting my time. this is bond meets bourne. tone it down slap some good soundtrack and a plot and ok. its trying to be a sophisticated movie without a plot bring me die another day a no brainer with no plot but a good pull.

think of it this way. This movie takes place before any of the other ones except for Casino Royale(in theory) so it makes sense that he wouldn't be the suave gadget using spy. He is the kill everyone action hero.

Movie was basically closer for Casino Royal and a set up for the next movie it had to come unless the next film would not make sense. They did good for what they were able to work with.

He killed the franchise, Clive Owen would have been WAAAAAAAAAAAY better. Okey, Clive doesn't look like the other Bonds, be he has that charming-ladiesman-badass-motherfucker-look. And the movie Shoot'em Up is a perfect proof that he only needs ONE gun or a carrot to kick major ass.

I agree. This movie is not Bond...at all. I mean some of the action scenes just seemed forced, like the fight in the building powered by petroleum cells. Also the bad guy is just a fucking environmentalist!? I mean C'mon we've seen him battle assassins, evil geniuse and private organizations with many evil foes. An Environmentalist? Get real.
Besides I don't feel that Daniel Craig fits the part - he's not charming at all.

@metabollica i think that's what makes it so refreshing and new. a new type of bond for a new generation. and of late his villains haven't been ridiculous extravagant mad men this bond feels a lot more real. Part of the problem with James Bond movies for years is that they have been unrealistic and used too many comedy elements that detract from the tension and dram of the screenplay.

I didn't think that Quantum Of Solace was as good as Casino Royale even though it's still a good film to watch. I also haveto agree with Korey and Cyrus(and maybe Carlye as well)when they said that James Bond wasn't a punk. This Bond will almost kill first and ask questions later.

I would have to agree with all them, it's nowhere near as awesome as "Casino Royale", but it's much better than most of Roger Moore's films and "The World is Not Enough".

It was alright not nearly as good as casino royale, but it had it's moments. Craig is a good bond in my opinion. I mean they say he's not suave enough and all that bullshit, but being a cool charming asshole will get you way more women then being a pushover.

I didn't enjoy the film, not because it was of the bond. But the film itself, I'm not a bond fan really and don't care who plays the bond. As long as we have good acting, story and action.
The story, made no sense. Bond is pissed and wants revange. Yet he does nothing related to his revenge for 99% of the movie and takes out his anger on others by killing them. That was a complete bitchy Bond if I ever saw one. The action was bland, I litually almost fell asleep on this one

He doesn't kill others to relieve his anger. He killed them because he kind of needed to, so he would not die. Very important for future Bond movies that Bond not die....
