a smaller car also has watt linkage...it may be an improvement but it remains cost cutting. I'd prefer it to a torsion beam. You will never see a BMW with a torsion beam with watt linkage. The Astra fairs well in typical flat surface slalom and lane change tests, but which car doesn't?

I understand that opel has money issues, but ford has offered multi link since the first focus, VW since mark V and now even kia does it for a better price. The opel is a good car but enough...

vauxhalls are the best compare the corsa is far better than a fiesta and the insignia is far better than the cheap horrible looking mondeos n the astra is better than a focus,golf there is no comparison.

@rossdeescotland I am a big Opel fan! but d truth to b said! Corsa is too old now to be compared to the new Fiesta! It is a good car but it you can feel its age! The mondeo is one of the best in its class! I have a 2007 opel vectra and my brother has a 2008 Mondeo! the mondeo is better in every way! and the Focus is the class leader along with the Golf! For me, between Corsa and Fiesta I ll pick Fiesta! and insignia and Mondeo I ll pick the insignia! and Focus and new Astra I ll go with astra!

lol, they allways test it alot, and when it comes to the roads its all different...

they have covered 350,000 miles with thal wat linkage or whatever they call it. so i cant see how it can break down while using it as a normal car.

it doesn't get much simpler than this. Rear axles on golf or focus are far more complicated...
