As far as I know, Paul plays different notes but keeps his range within the same scale/mode so it'll sound like the album version, but not completely the same otherwise it would be boring to play after so many years :)

Those ultra-fast parts at the first section of the song, damn how does he do that. i am practising this song and those fast parts are six notes, i believe he picks 4 of the notes and hammers the other 2. Can anyone help me?

@guitarsender unfortunately no. according to the pro tab I have and from watching I thought he picked all six. This seems imposible but then again it's paul gilbert. I've been practicing for a long ass time and I can finally get to the point where I can play all the main riffs (not the solo) at full tempo but I use legato on those six notes. Picking all of them is just fucking crazy. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

@guitarsender @guitarsender legato is just continuos hamer on basically. Like usually when you hamer on one note you then pull off. When i say legato i mean i hit the first note and continue to hamer on in one direction until I get to the next string. So in terms of those six I hit the first note hamer on/legato until I get to the next string (the fourth note), and then pick once more before finishing up the riff.

I couldn't tell if you meant what guitar part of the song or what guitar I play through. I play the lead section of the guitar pro file I have (it doesn't have a couple of riffs Paul added in later). I play it through a PRS SE custom 22 with a couple of mods. hope that helps.

@guitarsender @I3LUD I believe I came across his own lession for this song quite some time ago, where Paul said he picks once the "bassest" string and hammer-ons the three notes before alternate picking the "treblest" string for the three other. I realise I may be wrong since I am not him... but judging by the video it also seems he goes like that. The outro solo riff should be played that way too but that one can be easily seen on this video.

@guitarsender he picks every note. make sure you always alternate pick unless youre doing some of his wierd arpeggios or youll fail miserably. it took me two years to get this song down now i am trying to ear out the solo in this version... none of the thigns i improvise can sound that good but man hes fucking tapping and shit and its like fuck off... paul you bastard
