  • @TheBananagirl95 one word.....FAIL

  • Paul Ortega has some good songs, don 't be afraid to share.

  • Lady your film looks stupid, just do it normally next time. What is this secret to life is this guy talking about....he needs to define it other than just saying it as if being a Native it should be taken as fact.

  • meegwitch 4 the songs "an idin song"

  • I have been looking all over for that tape - when I was a child, my father had it..... I remember seeing him sitting at the kitchen table day, listening to this song, tears coursing down his face. Many years later, I now realize why - his being a "half-breed" confusing him so much back then - yet he fought for Native and Metis rights for years. I may not be full blood, but in my heart, I know who I am and what any one else thinks/says because of my appearance will never change that.

  • It was good 4 me,your singing from the heart.Thank you!Am holding a tape in hand by Paul Ortega..Have lost so many others, eatin by players.Thats why, here lookin.Again,Thank You....

  • Loved it, so proud to know our culture has been alive for over 25000 yrs ~ the other ppls came over only 500 yrs ago, you can't get rid of that much history, our spirits are strong!

From the Child of two generations of (genocide) residential school survivors

  • i listened to this with my late step dad

  • I love this one... my grandma and mother used to sing BIRD SONG to us when we were little.... sadly my grandmother just passed away . we of course played some A. Paul Ortega for her at the services.

  • Love the song, but you messed it up by talking on the video and showing yourself.

  • @brl0360 Thanks for the feedback. On the other songs I did much better.

  • thank you for downloading this inspiring song!

  • brings back memories of my home. my parents have all kinds of albums at home. this and westerman are among them. we listened to them all the time. i will have to go home and convert them to CD for my home. thanks for sharing this and bringing it back to me.

  • superb! ty for sharing

    fav'd & 5*s! :-)

    Pony

  • HEY ADA I LOVE YOU

  • American Indians are native to Asia not to the Americas. They only live on the American continents. They crossed the Bering strait and dispersed throughout the North central and south America.

  • Yes this is true, but natives were the first to settle these lands, Generations have passed since then and their childrens children and on through to today, have become native to this land. When the first Europeans came here they saw people who were already settled here. Natives had a claim to this land but unfortunately we know the outcome of white invasion. I blame Squanto lol

  • not only did this occur almost 15,000 years ago, before all written history including the bible, that was just one group of people that after being the first and only people to settle the americas became specifically adapted to life in their climate using their resources, over time becoming an individualized people, just like every other people in the world.. so our people are native to america, otherwise all people would simply be native to africa!

  • @naplesblue sorry but you are wrong there. That is what scientists say and white people history. We have word from something greater than their theories.

  • @pomogirl1 Well naplesblue is technically correct, but we all evolved out of Africa. It seems sort of arbitrary of her to stop time on a dot and say "aha, they weren't in America yet!"

What bothers me about your post is you think there is a "white people history". There is, at some level, history. In 476 C.E. Rome fell. This is an objective event that did happen. Anything that contradicts this is wrong.

In any event, Ortega's words are powerful.

  • @majinspy

It has recently been proven thru DNA testing in China that we did not all evolve out of Africa. This has been "white man's theory". The Native people of North America have always known that we did not all evolve from Africa. They have deeper knowledge.

  • @ayemaya75 There is no such thing as a "white man theory". 2+2=4 isn't a white man or red man theory. It either is, or isn't.

We all DID evolve out of Africa if you go back for enough. That is where the human species evolved ever so slowly from our ape cousins. I tend to keep up on my biology as I'm a high school biology teacher and I'm operating under the latest scientific discoveries based on extremely powerful evidence. Objective history or biology isn't "imperialistic" or "white".

  • @majinspy

    Part 1 of 2

Yes, 2+2=4. This is a very concrete, simple, mathematical equation. However, as you become more complex, things are not so concrete and simple, or so "black and white". Did you not read what I just stated, that "It has recently been proven thru DNA testing in China that we did not all evolve out of Africa"? Where we came from, how we got here, are all "theories". (con't)

  • @majinspy

    Part 2 of 2

What "Extremely powerful evidence"? Artifacts found in Africa were the oldest until the Chinese have also recently (past year) found artifact 110,000 years old of a modern human. This proves that we did not all come from Africa. As I stated, the Natives have ALWAYS said this -- their knowledge is much deeper. If you do enough research, you will learn that the ancients had a whole lot more knowledge about some things than we do. See "Not all Humans Out of Africa"

  • @majinspy

Last word: EVERYTHING we learn is "biased" -- biology, history, social sciences, religion, politics, etc. because it is based upon someone's interpretation, personal values and understanding. If you don't believe biology is "biased", listen to Dr. Bruce Lipton, cellular biologist. Most of history is based upon archeologist's interpretation of artifacts, which is based upon their understanding and knowledge at the time, which may be very limited and biased. I could go on and on.

  • @ayemaya75 Well MY last word is that your pov is simply incorrect. Rome fell to invasion before the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbour, Hawaii. This isn't my opinion. Now whether Rome falling or Pearl Harbour being attacked was a good or bad thing IS indeed subjective. To go back to biology, there is a mountain of DNA evidence, physiological evidence, and fossil evidence to support the idea that humans evolved from apes in Africa. I'm sorry your creation myth IS a myth but, c'est la vie :\

  • @majinspy

And my last word is that I'm sorry that you are so resistant to see more recent studies and "evidence" that we came from more places other than Africa.

  • @ayemaya75 Well neither of us keep our word :) (unless your original "last word" was to be the last word in the discussion, me included...which would be rather presumptous).

I looked up Dr. Bruce Lipton. The first thing I read said he had the idea that genes and DNA could be manipulated by a person's beliefs. That said all I needed to know. I didn't want anyone to come along this discussion and think that we had equal science on our respective sides. BS in its purest form.

  • @majinspy

Hmmm. You read one sentence and pass a conclusive judgement because it doesn't agree with what you have been previously taught. In his CD "The Biology of Belief" he shares his experiences. His background includes teaching Medical Students at a couple of Universities, including research at Penn State and Stanford.

However, many people for centuries, especially the scientists, refused to believe that the world was round because their tech at the time could not find "evidence".

  • I love this poem thank you for sharing. I listened closely twice. Native Americans are so opressed by the govenment, yet were the first foot

  • good lookin on puttin this up.....if u have more please share
