i em using a 30 feet hdmi cable but no picture or sound comming trough, i also tryed the hdmi signal booster, but still nothing. Any idea? anybody with the same problem?
I just hooked mine up. The trick was to download the latest video drivers and install them, then reboot the PC. Then, still no Video, I went to the TV and unplugged the HDMI cable and plugged it back in. Then the computer installed the TV as a new monitor device and I was in business. I still have no audio, though because I'm using a DVI-HDMI adapter and I think I'm out of luck unless I run audio cables.
I have the same card. You are using the DVI-HDMI adapter, right? I don't think you can get sound that way, have to run separate audio cables. Let me know if you found out something different, I just hooked mine up and no sound.
Nvidia 9600GT has DVI to HDMI dongle but make sure audio is plugged into video card internally or it wont work. (some shops skip this cable) The 9600GT is an ideal entertainment video card for home entertainment PCs and it's cheap too!
Did you use the small thin wire that came with the video card, it is a audio pass through, so you connect that wire to the video card, and then to the sound card on you computer
It is a S/PDIF conntector, but it is an internal connector, not external. But this depends on the brand of video card, and what specifications it has. Most likely your version of video card does not support or has the connectors for this, so you would have to get another video card separately and install the video card and connect it yourself. So right now you would have to use a external wire to connect the speakers to the computer sound card, since the HDMI audio is not coming from your card.
Well you can still use the HDMI connection, but there won't be audio output to the screen, you should still be able to get output from your regular speakers
no there isn't any audio at all when i plug in the HDMI TO DVI........when i plug in 3.5mm audio jack cable to my speakers it stills have no sound....so
wrong its cause nothing is made for 4 gpu's and cause of that it reduces performance same goes for two 9800gx2s in sli it reduces performance cause nothing is optimized for 4 gpu's
physX chip doesn't help much inless its a PhysX game and theres not alot of them
1) Better drivers have been released that improve the level of optimization. It's still not perfect, but a pair of 4870X2s is now roughly equivalent to Tri-SLI GTX 260 Core 216s.
2) Even without those drivers, at the highest-end level of performance, it's the VRAM that makes the card more than anything else (at least right now). 2 4870X2s is generally better than 3 GTX280s, purely because of the better support for high-resolution AA and AF.
Driver upgrades for the GTX series would be nice, but it's probably going to be their second priority for a while; apparently they're working on dual-GPU versions of the 200s (probably blow ATI out of the water, at least for truly high-end systems - Tri-SLI 3 hypothetical 280X2s and you've got 6 gigs of VRAM AND vastly superior processing).
The power requirements for that kind of setup would be immense, though. >.>
but wouldnt a dual GPU version of the 200 series be too big to but in tri SLI??. unless they fit it in a 200 card size. so if a system had 3 gtx280x2s on SLI then driver updates would make it incredibly fast.
That's a pretty good point, actually...hopefully NVidia will be able to work out any kinks and get it into a 2-Slot size (it'll definitely be long, if they manage it...obviously...).
Another solution might be motherboards with more slots to work with (and, obviously, cases equipped to handle them). I haven't done any research on this idea, though, so I don't know if there are plans to make any, but it'd be pretty awesome if someone did. >.>
Most Nvidia 9600 GT and 9800 GTX's and up have a DVI to HDMI connector, and also include a S/PDIF pass-through which connects from the S/PDIF header on your motherboard/sound card to the video card itself, and then it gets transmitted to the HDMI connector.
Wrong, your video card doesn't create the sound, it just acts as a pass through for sound, meaning the signal gets transmitted from the sound card via a S/PDIF connection to the video card.
Hey Rodney I'm buying a computer next week and need help with a simple question...
Can for say a Crossfire capable motherboard run a Nvidia graphics card? So my real question is can a motherboard play both sinble cards or what, plz help as it would save me serious money thanks in advance...
On a video series that everyone want to comment on first and say they were first to do so, when I finally got to do that I was amazed that there was only 6 views before me and no comments. You are just mad that you did not comment first retard.
P.S. I have blocked you so I will not be able to see anything you post so don't try you are just going to waste your time but for a retard who cares.
@Ecoclimber or the sound card btw. on the motherboard IF you have and use onboard sound. (you can probably ignore this eco, but its nice to clarify)

What is the purpose of integrating audio into video cable? They should remain separate outputs.
dangerale 3 years ago
it reduces the amount of cables lying around.
Its similar to why can you get mouses and keyboards (wireless) that run off the same reciever.
smalltime0 3 years ago
Yeah but it seems pointless to us that use additional amplifiers for sound.
dangerale 3 years ago
the purpose is wire management

yeah the radeon 4870x2 is really fast withthose new drivers. i hope nvidia will replace the crappy drivers in the 260's and 280's.
