It would really help their family life and peace if they started showing some tough love and demand respect and responsibility. They're hurting their kids by indulging them. It's obvious how much they love their kids, but they seem to care too much about upsetting them or making them angry.

Someone commented that he was sent back to his father in Jersey. I hope he's alright. The pain of losing a parent to cancer probably never goes away. I think we just learn how to distance ourselves from the pain to function and survive. I wish him the best.

They develop psychological problems and become confused when they don't have consistent rules. I studied childhood/adolescent psychology in college and kids are the same way. Children function their best and feel most safe in a loving environment with set rules/boundaries with consistent consequences for breaking them. The kids and dogs need tough love!
