You are correct..it is a good supplemental drug to use in conjuction with other cessation resources like phone help lines and other nicotine replacement therapies like the patch or gum
Zyban is (as I understand) the SAME drug as Wellbutrin, a popular, non-SSRI antidepressant. So it can be used for both purposes - smoking cessation and stopping depression. It didn't seem to work much for me as an antidepressant (it did for my brother). But it definitely reduced my nicotine craving dramatically, with no side effects. I recommend it, and I'm not a fan of prescription drugs in general. Without insurance it was costing me about $70 a month (Costco's pharmacy had the lowest price).
