Dick Morris is a very bright man. Thank God we have some people that use their brains. These mindless twits are destroying out country. Why hire a little boy to do a mans job? And one with a unknown past. It's insane to have people running our country with no experience, who haven't the brains to handle the job ?. Haven't you seen enough America, of the incompetence of our government ? How much more do you have to see before you wise up? The sooner we get good government in the better.
All union members can, on a yearly bases, apply for any portion of their dues that was contributed to a political party they do not want to contribute to returned...its Fed law. No union member is forced to contribute to any one political party. I'm not in a union but that seems to be a hot topic so I did the research and know what the truth is.
Morris is a LIAR especially since he mentions New York as an example ,,,, here in New York we have a 3 Billion Dollar Surplus our Mayor has money for Bicycle Lanes 700 Milion Dollar Parks and a 780 million dollar City Time System that Doesnt work he also has money 500 Million for an enhanced 9-11 system that doesnt work ,,,never mind the fact that he also has the time and money to try to take away gun rights from places like Arizona Or the South where he isnt even a representitive ,

So let the war begin. It's now or later, unfortunately. It's their self center way or death to us! That's who they are, losers!
@ladylordess this is the same man who was cheating on his wife never ran a business never served his country and clearly does not live in NYC. His review of the new york teachers situation is completely off base. Facts just get in the way of conservatives. Schools in the U.S. were number one in the world and unions were a part of that effort. Dick Morris is a lackey for the right and if he has his way american workers will be making less than their asian counterparts.
@mneal1000 Bill Clinton cheated on his wife NUMEROUS times with NUMEROUS skanks and young interns. What is your point? Does that limit ones intelligence level because their penis did the talking for their brain? Morris broke down the situation precisely. Do you know who Dick Morris USED to work for?? I'll give you one guess. It wasn't anyone on the right! If you want to learn more details of collective bargaining, here is a great explaination: watch?v=QyxuUjgHkgs
@ladylordess yes I know who he worked for and his former boss was as helpful to workers as Reagan was. When you ship jobs out of the country through trade agreements or union busting techniques being used by the republicans you reduce the tax base. Bush did not create private sector jobs he presided over the loss of hundreds of thousands of jobs. Fewer jobs translate to a smaller tax base and providing tax breaks increases the problem. He forgot to mention that because he is selling soap.
@mneal1000 Yes you still forget that Dick Morris was successful and was always able to predict exactly what would happen, without failure. I'd say he has a good handle on politics and the workings of our country. What DC person isn't "selling" something?? Some are just better at it, some actually have the facts on their side. Keep your blinders on little horsey, it makes the truth less frightening.
@ladylordess whoa you mentioned facts his facts regarding NYC are WRONG, his analysis of Wisconsin while is opinion is wrong. He and his tea party friends are a direct link to the "redeemers" They were the southern wing of the Bourbon Democrats, who were the conservative, pro-business wing of the Democratic Party who brought in the Jim Crow laws. Working as a toady on FOX hardly makes him successful.
Morris, the "rubber rooms" you are referring to were closed down in New York back in June, with the support of the unions. The reason why no one agreed to automatically fire every teacher in them was because they weren't exclusively for bad teachers, but teachers who have been accused of misconduct and are waiting for administration to investigate. As you can imagine, this included a lot of good teachers who were falsely accused of things by vindictive students.
All of my personal experiences have proven to me that Unions are no longer a net positive for America. They simply add complexity and cost, and do nothing to foster competitiveness and progress. As such, any and all efforts to reign in the undue influence they have enjoyed, has my support. There may have been a time when Unions brought something positive to our Nation, but those days are long in the past.
Just to follow up on my comments, the teachers name was Mr.LaSalles, taught 7-8 grade at Pennsbury High School,Bucks County,Pa.He was as queer as a 3 dollar bill. I also had an English teacher Mr. McGinnis who use to come in with hangovers. He'd give us an assignment, and rest his head on his desk and fall asleep. He played in a band on week nights, get hammered, come into school unbathed, greasy hair, and the students would have to deal with his incompetence.Teachers like this shouldn't be teaching !
Dick, you R on the money on this one.I once had a openly gay male math teacher who would come into school wearing Hi-Heel wooden clogs.Besides that,he was a horrible teacher. All classes had small seperate room where teachers could privately council students, talk with parents,or grade papers w/o being disrupted from other students. He let the kids paint that room phychodelic colors, and the kids punched holes in the hollow cinder block wall so they could hide their drugs. He knowingly let it happen !
We lost good public education when they kicked God out! They couldn't pay me enough , if I had kids young enough, to put them in public schools!! You parents need to put your kids in a private school that teaches the importance of character and choosing right from wrong, respect for God, others, and our country! Unless we as a nation turn back to God our public schools will remain a cesspool!
Did anyone mention that states with strong teacher union presences tend to have kids with better standardized test scores? Wisconsin is ranked #3 in the nation. 5 states without collective bargaining rights rank at or near rock bottom. Think that'll still be the case if/after this becomes law?
BTW, the unions agreed to the financial cuts Walker wanted, but he refused based on the bargaining rights. Is it *really* about the budget at that point, especially after peeling it from the "budget?"
If the union parasites succeed in a recall. it will mean a civil war in this country which i believe the left is dying for. They want chaos and murder. The left intends on thinning out the population. They don't care about the union employee's either, they're being used as an arm just to get the chaos started. Obama just put a stop to 1 million M1 guns coming to the USA from Korea because they know what their doing may lead to an upraising, so confiscate as many guns now as possible is the plan
The part that bothers me is that there are a lot of good teachers who are not supportive of their Unions positions. However, it appears that throughout this debate, all teachers have been being demonized. I've seen the idea bandied about that any teacher who's been there more than 10 years is automatically a bad teacher.
Nothing could be less true. Schools strapped for cash will likely fire the top wage earners first just to balance the budget. Regardless of the quality of the teachers fired.
If there is a recall that may be a good thing because many business will leave WI. & then these union parasites will have nothing to do. They will lose everything they own. So let the recall happen because in the long run the business will head for greener pastures leaving WI. bankrupt. The down side is these parasites will move to other states & then they will be around normal human beings which I wouldn't wish that on good conservative people. 1 less liberal parasite=several freed tax payers!
@11111110 Why not. We will be executing many of these traitors someday anyway. You and i may not be around but it will happen none the less someday. These leftist are the true enemy of freedom and they are greedy filth!. They don't contribute squat to the poor and helpless like they are always projecting that they do. Businesses and the conservative right that make this country work. If choose it act like them so what. U got a problem with that? They are filth & scum. I'm not going to be nice.
You know, they say that if you take something to its extreme, it becomes its own opposite. In extreme darkness, a person can't see anything. But if basked in extreme light, you once again can't see anything.
So you've carried out your conservative ideology to the furthest end of the political spectrum, so that your behavior now greatly resembles that of a deranged leftist. I hope you see the irony in imitating the very type of thing you hate.
Dick is a great American patriot and a brilliant political tactician. Thank you Dick for this great analysis. Please keep making videos. You're really good at them.
These public employee unions are the enemy of are country an our way of life. These are evil people bent on destroying our educational system. It has created millions of brain dead citizens.1 less progressive liberal union employee=several freed tax payers!
@ISUCN I would agree that the edu system has created millions of brain dead citizens, but I have to ask what you would do, besides removing unions, that would fix the system. There are places where public school teachers cannot afford to live in the districts they teach in. If teachers can't afford to teach, who's going to teach the kids? Are private schools the ONLY option left in those areas? That doesn't seem like much of a 'choice' to me. Homeschooling? That's a big time commitment too.
@Gigawood It isn't the teachers, It's the union political set up where they're using our educational system for decades now to destroy America within. It's not an accident we went from #1 in the world 50 yrs. ago to #38. We're still in declined. Before long there won't be an America to throw under the bus. It dying due to progressive liberalism by design. A couple yrs or so what will everyone be saying?. What will U do? Think about that for a shot while. Because that's all America has left!
@ISUCN I agree wholeheartedly with you with everything from "political set up..." to "We're still in decline." However, is it unions? Or a corporate agenda to dumb citizens down to have workers who simply do what they're told without thinking or questioning? Either way, at the loss of creativity and innovation?
My Sen Hopper along with other Wis Republican Senators may be recalled. I ask that Wis residents send them E. Mails letters small donations, to show support. If they want to play this game Dem Senator Hanson GB is also being recall, support that. Lets show Wis. that we didn't like our capital being trashed and we didn't agree with the union protest. As a farmer I thought the farmers who protested with them were nuts with what we receive no benefit small income compared to these union people.
Dick Morris is correct. This is not a fight Democrate vs Republican. Public Unions are ruining America - look at the NYC school system. For the state and local governments to be able to work they have to be responsive to the citizens and not to government unions.Everyone will still be able to join unions if they choose to but they should not be forced by payroll deduction to join the unions. Keep the government responsive to the citizens. I live in NY and schools are suffering by union control.
This idiotic sense of entitlement on all government programs is out of control. I'm a property manager who all too often see Section 8 vouchers inherited by next of kin. While I am for helping those who really need it, I think there should be term limits for welfare aid. Many of these people are capable of working, but want to go through life on the backs of others. Call congress - term limits for welfare programs! They can take the jobs illegals are doing, forcing them to leave!
I would be so pissed if I was forced to join a union just to get a job and then had to watch my hard earned money go to support politicians who are not looking out for the best interests of the country.
@sdfkjllshadflhadfshl and you think Dick Morris is looking out for you or this country? Workers were losing their lives on the job prior to unions. Bosses hired thugs to beat and kill workers trying to eak out a living wage. After the establishment of unions workers were able to buy homes, send their kids to college and retire with a pension and the corporations still made a lot of money. Now the bosses want to go back to pre civil war labor practices in third world countries.

To rjwriter...you are sooooo FOS...If you are what you claim to be you would be totally supportive of these very needed reforms. It is so obvious you are a union plant...nice try loser. Wisconsin and her children will be much better off with the "over-reaching" power of the unions broken.
hey rj...I think I will go to wisconsin and get me a bus driving job for 100k plus...sounds abourt right for the cheese state..and marie its not about taking money from union workers (think tax payers hon) I worked union and non-union and the only thing the union did was take my money and tell me who to vote for...the union heads are like ticks on a dogs ass they bury themseves in and you cant get them out.they hire thier buddies and give them office or supervisor jobs
Mr. Morris...everything you said simply makes so much sense. it's amazing to me how in the grip of greed, fear or just plain stupidity America is at this time, when our ancestors were champions of the opposite. Governor Walker cut a Gordion Knot in Wisconsin loosening strangleholds in many sectors, just plain honest, gutsy and smart. It remains to be seen if Wisconsin, like dogs will return to their vomit. It's the same across the nation, can't budget-cut, can't drill for oil, we just sit!
I'm a conservative Republican Tea Party supporter who also is a teacher and a union member. I'm sorry to say that Walker is overreaching in Wisconsin... Just like Newt did when we had the "Contract with America." Walker is insuring that we will lose Wisconsin in 2012 and this was totally unnecessary. Don't compare Wisconsin or any other state with the terrible corruption that takes place in New York. The reforms you are talking about will not lead to improvement... just more cronyism....
@rjwriter The leftist parasitic union gangs w/ all of it's tenicals most be severed in order that the tax payers get control of the educational system again. The communist, anti-America leftist unions must be removed before we can move forward with reshaping our cities, towns, states and our educational system. Our country needs a breath of fresh air. Death to the public employee unions. All members must be punished with decades of free public service. 1 less leftist= several freed tax payers!
. It's all about confiscating hard earned dollars from the workers. No longer do American citizens have a say in where our government spends our money. Harry Reid wants to continue to send money to "Cowboy's poetry festival." How much does it cost to stand around reading out of a book?
@rintintinification Good point! Unions have outlived their usefulness and turned into massive pools of unwitting PACs! Rank and file members have no say as to where their dues get sent($60 million from SEIU to Barry Soetoro's 2008 run for Dictator-in-Chief!
Thsnk God for Governors like Scott Walker. Ultimately, he's helping the state and the children of Wisconsin by letting localities get rid of bad teachers(yhanks to removal of tenure policies) and rewarding good ones. Wisconsin won't end up like New York, with all the "rubber rooms" and firing 4000 of the most recently hired teachers! God bless him!
@16sammie. Let's get one thing straight, learn about the topic before opening thy mouth. The GOP you'te complaining about, didn't want to approve that because the DemocRATS wouldn't tell them how it was going to be administered, controlled, etc. They were being good stewards of the public money, unlike Barry and his Chicago thugs!
The GOP loves America so much, they didn't want to FUND relief for workers injured for rushing to the aid of fellow Americans during 9-11-01. Oh yeah they really love America, TO DEATH!
Government worker unions are the single greatest threat to western civilization. I kid you not. Look around, every government with unionized workers is bankrupt, and when austerity must be pursued, the union workers literally riot in the streets and try to shut down government. Their first move is to hurt the elderly by shutting down government so that social security-type payments will cease. Pay up or else to these organized criminals!
@rintintinification state and federal budgets suffer from the reduction of revenue do to tax cuts to corporations who moved jobs off shore. Republicans and conservative democrats fostered this behavior for the past 40 years since Reagan was president and the country has suffered as a whole. Our economy has suffered because of business reducing the wages of labor because it has increased the labor pool to include third world countries. It is the conservatives the elderly have to worry about.
@rintintinification State governments are broke because they were defunded by republicans over the past forty years not because of unions. Free trade agreements sending U.S. jobs out of the country and tax loop holes that allow corporations to avoid paying their fair share of the tax burdens is why we are broke not because of unions. There are "right to work states" that don't have unions that are broke because they don't have enough revenue because Americans are out.
@mneal1000 U're full of leftist propaganda. It's always the republicans never the socialist communist, anarchist, Islam, unions, etc. I'm not a republican yet i know where the problem stems from. A billion and a half regulation bro. The leftist control freaks whom most are sexual deviates. Since JFK was shot the commies have been at work, at the helm indoctrinating it's citizen by way of socialized education, the media. N.Y, LA. Seattle, Miami Times, NPR, PBS, fagwood, it's actor/artist guilds.
@ISUCN Really? No facts just name calling? The world economic collapse can be traced to the retraction of banking regulations, Worker safety was improved because of regulations and it was regulations that saved many citizens from contracting cancer from smoking. Read up on the "Redeemers' the precursor of the Tea party they are back and trying to drag the U.S. back to the 1800's.
@mneal1000 What's ur point? That the leftist unions are good for America because people that lived decades ago helped workers with good safety rules & 40 hrs.? They did, however, those were different people than the greedy socialist communist of today. Who assassinated JFk and Bobby Kennedy? What happened after those days in the 1960's? What's important today, not what happened 100 yrs. ago. What about what happened 300-400 yrs, ago bro? 1 less leftist employee= several freed tax payers!
Unions are necessary evil due to BAD EVIL VINDICTIVE Administrators. They will use this as a tool to rid themselves of teachers they do not like PERIOD. Unions suck but the protection is a must until the Administrative pool is cleaned up and held accountable for the thugs in it .
@NJB52 There are other ways to deal with bad or unfair administrators (such as legal action) that actually target the specific problem without creating a general environment of hostility between all workers and all administrators, as unions do. Promotion and retention based upon performance should really be one of am employer's most basic rights. Employers pay workers each day and workers should keep up their performance even if 'senior' in the company or face possibility of consequence.
This problem has been festering for decades! Thank God it has come to a head at last. Next, lets have school vouchers, and allow each school to decide for themselves on issues of dress code, speech code, curriculum, and religious teaching, and let the PEOPLE choose their OWN schools for themselves and take back our schools from the federal bureaucrats!
Logical, pragmatic, and certainly reasonable. Unfortunately, the unions that were originally created to protect workers are now abusing their power to get more than a square deal, they want to fleece the system.
Are there any liberals out there that agree with the simple logic Dick articulated so well here? My wife was in the teacher's union. Her whole life revolves around children. Being a teacher was a passion, however for some of her co-workers it was simply a paycheck. Every indication was they hated children, yet they had seniority, they made more money and were protected. Result- she and some of the other best teachers became so frustrated they left the system, but guess who is left?
@zoe, Sounds like we don't want you anywhere near our kids, thus this legislation.Bargaining is not a right, it's a privilege. You are not the only one who has bills to pay. Parents need a way to get rid of teachers with attitude problems. I think teachers ought to work the entire year instead of getting 3 months off. They could be working on improving educational programs. Everyone else has to work the entire year, why not teachers.
Dick, love you, but man you are wrong. My wife is a teacher so I see. You can't dump the bad teachers and keep the good. The educational system is a bureaucracy, thus corrupt. Deans, Vice Presidents, and many teachers are in it for themselves. You help my career and you stay, goodbye if you don't (good teacher - who cares). Like all bureaucracies, It's about the structure, not the service provided. Position/income is the job, not good teaching. More, but youtube comments are limited.
As a teacher I cannot tell you how important it is to get teachers like @zoe12757 out of the classroom and away from your children. They are many and you (the taxpayer) are paying them to hurt your children.
As usual, Dick Morris is spot on. Sadly, the rhetoric is hard to communicate through the mainstream media. They keep telling folks that Walker denies workers their bargaining RIGHTS. These are reasonable LIMITS on public workers bargaining. Unlike private business, public worker unions have an unfair advantage since there is no opposition in the negotiation. Most of the government reps. are in bed with the unions and they can always turn to the taxpayer to pay the bills the end.
I think it is important also to emphasize that the LIMITS placed on what can be bargained for collectively (Wisconsin employees were NOT 'stripped' of their collective bargaining rights!) don't seem to prevent the government from deciding at some point to improve benefits, or increase pay for teachers (for example) when appropriate or desirable in the future. The only thing is that the unions cannot be doing their thugging against the taxpayers for it in every case.
@zoe12757 You Repulicans took away our rites!!!! I slave teching your stupid kids everyday/ You basterds, were 540,000 strong to recall scott Walker!!
@Oceanpacifica1968 How could you be a teacher? Your writing is too poor. Rites? Teching? Basterds? Oh, those were typing errors? One out of three could be an error. You have a lot of class, albeit LOW class. Teacher? I doubt it. I hope not. Heaven save us!!
Thank you Mr.Morris for making a video about this subject of the teachers union and Gov. Walker. You should check out the movie / documentary called "Waiting for Superman" It addresses the issue of the teachers union and the state of the public school system. Which is SHIT.
I think he played it smart. Governor Walker had no other choice. The Dems skipped town like cowards. Imagine the GOP pulling that kind of stunt. I think the unions and the Left over played their hand. CA will be the last state to limit unions. This mess in WI is more posturing than anything. Obama unwisely got involved but I think it will help unseat him in 2012.
Dick Morris is a very bright man. Thank God we have some people that use their brains. These mindless twits are destroying out country. Why hire a little boy to do a mans job? When you ship jobs out of the country through trade agreements or union busting techniques being used by the republicans you reduce the tax base. Bush did not create private sector jobs he presided over the loss of hundreds of thousands of jobs. Fewer jobs translate to a smaller tax base and providing tax breaks increases the problem. He forgot to mention that because he is selling soap.
mneal1000 1 year ago
@mneal1000 Yes you still forget that Dick Morris was successful and was always able to predict exactly what would happen, without failure. I'd say he has a good handle on politics and the workings of our country. What DC person isn't "selling" something?? Some are just better at it, some actually have the facts on their side. Keep your blinders on little horsey, it makes the truth less frightening.

ISUCN 1 year ago
The part that bothers me is that there are a lot of good teachers who are not supportive of their Unions positions. However, it appears that throughout this debate, all teachers have been being demonized. I've seen the idea bandied about that any teacher who's been there more than 10 years is automatically a bad teacher.
Nothing could be less true. Schools strapped for cash will likely fire the top wage earners first just to balance the budget. Regardless of the quality of the teachers fired.

If there is a recall that may be a good thing because many business will leave WI. & then these union parasites will have nothing to do. They will lose everything they own. So let the recall happen because in the long run the business will head for greener pastures leaving WI. bankrupt. Are private schools the ONLY option left in those areas? That doesn't seem like much of a 'choice' to me. Homeschooling? That's a big time commitment too.

Pay up or else to these organized criminals!
rintintinification 1 year ago 15
@rintintinification state and federal budgets suffer from the reduction of revenue do to tax cuts to corporations who moved jobs off shore. Republicans and conservative democrats fostered this behavior for the past 40 years since Reagan was president and the country has suffered as a whole. Our economy has suffered because of business reducing the wages of labor because it has increased the labor pool to include third world countries. It is the conservatives the elderly have to worry about.
mneal1000 1 year ago
@rintintinification State governments are broke because they were defunded by republicans over the past forty years not because of unions. Free trade agreements sending U.S. jobs out of the country and tax loop holes that allow corporations to avoid paying their fair share of the tax burdens is why we are broke not because of unions. There are "right to work states" that don't have unions that are broke because they don't have enough revenue because Americans are out.

Most of the government reps. are in bed with the unions and they can always turn to the taxpayer to pay the bills the end.
gregginhnl 1 year ago
I think it is important also to emphasize that the LIMITS placed on what can be bargained for collectively (Wisconsin employees were NOT 'stripped' of their collective bargaining rights!) don't seem to prevent the government from deciding at some point to improve benefits, or increase pay for teachers (for example) when appropriate or desirable in the future. The only thing is that the unions cannot be doing their thugging against the taxpayers for it in every case.
