  • I wonder how civilised those remote islands are today.

  • @TXGTR they use tweeter I follow a lot of them!

  • I've just been reading A Voyage to the South Sea by William Bligh at Project Gutenberg. His description of the attack by the natives that killed John Norton is written in a very matter of fact fashion but it must have been absolutely terrifying. 200 natives chased them into the sea and then followed them in canoes throwing rocks and attempting to board them. Bligh writes that he throw some clothes into the sea and this distracted them long enough to get away.

    Well worth a look.

  • We call them "Savages," Because we are better NO!! Because to Them we were "Savages." Not Everyone lives by the SAME RULES DEEMED NORMAL!!

    Their Country, THEIR CUSTOMS!!

  • "By their manner, we do not expect our welcome to last much longer."

  • I would of gone with Bligh...There was no future for the mutineers. Christian only lived another three years.

  • @barnabyfraser Me too. Bligh may have been a pompous jerk, but at least he was a reliable seaman and even tough order is better than no order, which is what the mutineers provided instead. Many of those men that sided with Christian would die in violent acts amongst themselves, or live out the rest of their days in a bleak existence lacking the freedom that they had sought by breaking the law.

  • The chief has the right idea Christian was a ropey fellow setting Bligh adrift, anyway I would have supported bligh

  • @bearsagainstevil I would have been loyal too. A women is not worth a hanging...

  • Figi islands where cannibalism is perfected almost to a science ..lool

  • When was rod Stewart on the bounty? At 8:28

  • Looks like the landed on modern day Haiti.

  • Pagan Gods in your eyes

  • 10:13 you shame me by coming here... well said!!

  • I can't imagine a fate much worse than being set adrift or marooned.

    a slow, painful, hopeless death.

  • The English enslaved the Africans and exploited the Tahitians and have the nerve to call another race of men savages.

  • atleast the english didn't eat people and pray to pagan gods

  • lol are you sure about that?

  • @TheDavidG54 They did about 2000 years ago.

  • @TheDavidG54 this hannibal lector did

  • @TheDavidG54 They made the negroes their slaves! LOL

  • @MrGrevy True. But they were making the Irish slaves way before they enslaved any Africans. Even today they still make many an Irishmen a slave to the illegal imperial empire. Tiocfaidh ár lá

  • @TheDavidG54 No, they certainly don't. keep defending Africans if you want to look foolish.

  • @TheDavidG54 Though at one point they did, I think. Maybe not eat people, but there was a pre-Christian Britain (both for the Celtics and Anglo-Saxons).

  • @TheDavidG54 yeah, they hunted people for fun and prayed to a tribal desert jewish god

  • @sera7ares Its always all about the Jews with you people.

  • @TheDavidG54 That was not my point, I'm ok with Jews...the emphasis was put on the god concept the english people had. Not much better than pagan gods.

  • @sera7ares The "God" concept. There is no valid comparison between the Judeo-Christian God Concept and pagan Gods. These people worshiped sticks and dung, we worship almighty God.

  • @TheDavidG54 so we're told...as for proof/evidence/justification for this belief, it's just about as good as the pagan gods.

  • @TheDavidG54: Nothing wrong with praying to Pagan gods, if that's your thing.

  • @TheDavidG54 but they invented Monty Python! :)

  • Now the descendants of enslaved African people rule USA in sports such as sprints, boxing, basketball & golf; in the music industry and in politics as the president.

  • the natives bashed that guy's head with a rock and you think thats not savage!?

  • what is savage to one is natural to another

  • The Africans enslaved Africans long before anyone else. And they still do it to this day.

  • And that has nothing to do with the movie. Don't be a prick....just watch the movie.

And for the record, African enslaving other Africans, past or present, is no excuse for what other nations have done!!

  • Hey, Kepler, Kamiclod placed the blame for slavery squarely on the English and, sure, they deserve some but slavery was going on long before the English ever showed up and still goes on to this day. At least the English matured.

  • At least they wear clothing and don't eat eachother and live in straw mud or bamboo huts.

Africa was a much better place when the Europeans were in control, look at it now.

  • @stevensw It seems to me that it was equally bad then. The only difference is that you didn't often see the things the natives did in public. Something tells me they did a lot of the same things they do today, be it enslaving each other or something else. Europeans didn't stop that - they profited from it!

  • 10:21. That Chief was very smart and foresighted. I hope he and his tribe didn't suffer any retributions from the British.

On a side note, I stil can't watch the scene where he mourns his daughter's departure after seeing it once.

  • This is pretty realistic. John Norton DID die at the hands of these natives.

  • i dont understand what was SOOO bad that they made mutiny. And made fletcher overact

  • "prepare to make way. . . make way"

    captions the helplessness perfectly

  • "I hope never to see Fletcher Christian again. Unless it's to see him hang." Captain Bligh.

  • Bloody Savages!

  • Ha! Agreed.
