  • This era in WWF was SWEET. It was when WCW was winning the ratings, and before the "attitude era," but i thought there was some great wrestling in '96 '97 in WWF

  • No one knew about this except Shawn, Vince, and a few people backstage. Owen, God Bless his soul, was about to break kayfabe because he was concerned. This video confirms 2 things. HBK's ability as a performer and Owen Hart being what everyone said about him, a great individual who cared about others. RIP Owen

  • Did I hear a Kid say "Oh Shit" at 7:26?

  • Mr. Fuji at Ringside.

  • weird how Owen Hart got to see that fall, Shawn got lucky he didn't hav the same faith as Owen, dam that was a sign

  • who is that bitch they keep showing?

  • @koalajones88 You know, you're right, he was a great flyer, he was just horrible at landing.

  • @koalajones88 He couldn't fly though.

  • WTF what happend

  • They definitely knew how to sell a storyline back then. Even Owen looked concerned.

  • LOL at the female audience...oh please...

  • hahahaha the MOB sign.. MONEY OVER BITCHES!!! 00:29

  • This is the only way to guarantee real worry though, Tell no one.

  • Only Vince and Shawn were selling so no need to mention why others aren't.

  • @mossfreak7 I"m pretty sure most of them were in on it. Those EMTs looked like the Keystone Kops out there, knocking the oxygen cannister over and they didn't even bother to put the strap for the mask around his head. Not exactly a good seal. Then, at 9:50 you hear someone say "let's do something, guys, come on!".

  • @PrinceOfEternos83 Hmm Well that's very observant so I'm guessing the the ref and owen were not in on it as most people were.

  • @PrinceOfEternos83 Also I bet Jerry, Fuji, and Jim Cornette were just as in the dark as the crowd. I mean Jim was trying to hold Owen back.

  • @mossfreak7 I'm sure they all were in on it. It's called a worked shoot.

  • @PrinceOfEternos83 I know what it is but I just remember them talking about it in a DVD that almost nobody knew.

  • WTF!! why is the freakin reff kicking shawns leg!!!!

  • @BEYMANification Seems like he's kicking him like a dead animal.

  • omg i hope hes okayl...did he diedededededeeddeed.

  • @jOWNZin22 Oh yes, he definitely guy

that guy on monday night raw talking about triple H and the undertaker was a look alike

  • this would of been a great fued

    R.I.P Owen

  • owen hart suplex did seem close 2 shawns' neck. plus he actually broke stone colds' neck

  • Man that type of stuff can scare a person, Especally when they are a big fan of hbk

  • shawn, can u hear me, its pat patterson. if u do not respond i ll be forced to give u mouth 2 mouth resu.... im awake im awake

  • @1337Berlin1337 Thanx for posting! I saw this match in another video but it didnt show any details about shawn's faint. I was dying to know what happened! You rock for posting this.

  • Earl Hebner is yelling SHAWN, SHAWN at 6:44.

  • am i out of line to say that owen clearly a better wrestler than shawn? all owen's moves were crisp, plus he had just as good of a flyer, and he was way more powerful.

  • why was mr. fuji at rignside?

  • @HORNSWAGGLE123 im pretty sure this is when yokozuna and owen were tag partners, they were managed by mr. fuji and cornett

  • This is the match I think about when watching what TNA is doing with the Ken Anderson/concussion storyline.

  • damn! i loved this match. I remember being pissed off after seeing it back then because I lived in Richmond at the time and couldn't go see the show, and then this shit happened...

  • all I can say is wow and more wow

  • Owen looked like he was gonna Break Character at 6:37.

  • Mr. Fuji was 60 when this Happened.

  • how dare they going into commercial during such a great match??

  • that was just irresponsible. the fans were worried about shawn. fuck such crappy storylines

  • @goodbyeshawn This is one of the greatest storylines that the WWE/F has ever come out with. Rather than sit there and do there usual routine of giving the fans obvious wrestling storylines, they tried to blur the lines and give something new and exciting. Yes fans were worried but that was the point, it created interest

  • I remember watching this the night it aired! how many of these new commers to wrestling can say that

  • is it fake at the end?

  • @Saliva4Ever yes but it was VERY well done. they asked for dead air instead of announcers talking. they wanted it to be as real as possible. act like you would if that really happened.

  • The terrible thing is the medics would be attending to owen hart in the ring just a few years later! R.I.P OWEN!

  • did owen know this was was a work? his reaction makes it look like he wasn't in on this. If that's the case that was pretty low. making the man think that he seriously injured his coworker

  • @donovanjd3 yea Owen new that it was a work. so did jerry lawler and jim ross

  • @donovanjd3 From what I gather the only people who knew were Shawn and the Clique, Vince and a few higher up guys in the company. The announcers, Owen, and the medics didn't know.

  • @donovanjd3 yea he was in the know

  • @koalajones88 No idea what you're talking about. I haven't given a shit about wrestling since 04 or 05. It's not so bad to come on here to find stuff you remember watching growing up.

  • lmao, I remember being like 4 and watching this shit.

  • this proves just how great a guy owen was

showing concern for a wrestler who's hurt

  • @cole003f he didn't even call steve austin after breaking his neck

  • @artistsandbox he did call austin actually owen called austin everyday or every week during his neckinjury

WATCH THE STONE COLD TRUTH DVD

  • shawn michael will be a legend forever nobody will replace him

  • Jesus Christ. Way to Fuck with the kids. They've got school in the morning how are they supposed to go to sleep after this shit ?

  • Why in the Fock is the Manager of Yokozuna standing outside at 2 : 46 ?

Shawn Michaels was at top Condition in the Mid Nineties i love it

  • @Zappafan1980 Because Yokozuna and Owen Hart were a Tag Team at the time.

  • @Zappafan1980 cause yokozuna and owen were a tag team back then

  • I'm pretty sure no one knew it was set up at the time except for hbk, nash, and vince. It was funny watching cornette, lawler, and everyone else's reaction.

  • @PremaritalSex1 That's the story they tell, but I seriously doubt it. The EMTs wouldn't have let Terry Taylor lift his legs like that, so I think more people knew about what they were doing than how many HBK and Vince claim.

  • @PremaritalSex1 Lawler was in the know

  • before he passed it was agreed by vince, patterson and owen that harts next gimmic wouldve been "the game" owen hart after owens accident triple h was given this moniker...one of the best r.i.p. o.h.

  • excellent video quality with this upload!

  • i saw this when I was young and at 1st i thought it was part of the show. when it wasn't, I was really scared!

  • Vince was like, "Well damn!" Sometimes I wonder....

  • Real or fake this was entertaining. I Cant even watch wwe now.

  • So funny peoples faces believing it's real.

  • On the Shawn michaels story heartbreak and triumph DVD, Shawn explained he was in a fight at a bar and was in hositpal for a few days before this match and Kevin Nash said to him to have a story line where he gets a concustion I think this is how it started

  • Man, did Owen ever have a bad match? Everything I've seen from him has been nothing short of spectacular.

  • was this match post or pre screwjob?

  • @DaBearsManiac prescrew

  • nice

  • disapointed

  • What a great match! Owen's matches were always the best on the card.

  • Owen and Shawn had great matches. Their styles were very similar.

  • Congratulation !!

And the oscar for the best actor goes to SHAWN MICHAELS !!!

  • Classic WWE is the best :) Thank you for the upload!

  • its on his book, it was planned, the only ones who knew about the ending was vince, ref, owen, n the commentators.

  • I don't believe this was a fake. A joke like this would be of a real bad taste.

  • actually michaels had a real concussion it was caused during a bar brawl...

i think it was kevin nash idea to have michaels passed out in a match so he could really get treated in the hospital mybe vince also knew about this.. shawn said it himself in his DVD...

  • @cruzzo260 What you said is true. its true HBK got that concussion during that incident in Syracuse in which kept him out for a bit. He was set to win the WWF Title and they figured this would build some sympathy for him, keeping people wondering if he's going to retire..only to come back as a huge face, ready to take the WWF Strap. And I must say..it worked.

  • @cruzzo260

I read about the bar brawl from bret hart's book it's because shawn was hitting on some waitress and the waitress boyfriend was a marine who was there with his marine buddies ..they all jumped michaels, xpac and bulldog

  • @jeffplaysska well according to shawn micheals book, he was out with davey boy smith - and davey boy smith was not involved , only michaels was attcked - bret hart has nothing to do with it

  • @cruzzo260 Vince McMahon definitely knew about this. For weeks afterwards the WWF played up Michaels' injury and how he may never wrestle again, but it was all a work. Michaels was legitimately injured by the marines who attacked him, but the on-screen stuff was done so they could portray him as a great underdog story heading into the 96 Royal Rumble, and then again at WrestleMania 12.

  • This times were the best wwf ROCKS

  • do you think him passing out was real or fake

  • fake, he says it was on one of his dvds

  • fakee

  • crisis i haven't seen this match in ages. wow! i remember it very well. RIP owen! we love you still.

  • We all know it's fake but damn they don't make matches like this anymore and the crowd don't get into like they used to...except for bitch Cena....sometimes...

  • ...@sca4rface...and @superfrickensexy...everbody thought that this was real only vince, shawn and 1 other person i don`t remember anymore who that was knew it. So come down and don`t offend people here..

Manche haben echt ein aggressions problem kommt mal aus euer videospiel welt wieder raus XDD ^^

  • I have to admit Shawn is a really good actress. I really believed it was real back than. Wrestlers are just humans as well something like that can happen even to wrestlers. Now that i know it`s just a storyline, that`s really sick. Ok we all know now that Shawn really had psysical problems and needed a break but to come up with something like that i don`t know..that can only come to vince`s head....

  • @whitelaney

    you mean actor??

  • @cruzzo oh yes i mean actor sorry my english is not the best i thought it`s the same =)))

  • @whitelaney lol u said actress

  • They just don't have matches like this anymore...

  • anyone who thinks this is real is an idiot. Every true wrestling fan knows that HBK was carrying an injury (back I think) and needed it treated. So WWE creative team decided to follow a story where owen knocks him out. People during that time thought it was real so the script was a success. HBK then went away and got his treatment for his other REAL injury.

  • i cant believe i remember this. wow.

  • btw...owen hart= greatest wrestler never to hold the wwe championship, period

  • @cs00024 i think him and mr.perfect

  • Agreed.

The fact that Owen is not yet in the Hall of Fame sickens me.

  • @DarkReaper1994 i don't think his widow will accept if they did

  • @cs00024 For sure, fantastic wrestler who thoroughly deserved the title and would have given the title some class.

  • @cs00024 what about mr. perfect or ricky the dragon steamboat or jimmy superfly snuka

  • @cs00024 I agree

  • @cs00024 Respectfuly, Arn Anderson.

  • @cs00024 owen hart did win wwe championship once on a non tv show but lost it days later on another one, theres a vid on here...jus type owen hart wins wwe championship...he beat bret in lumberjack match after anvil helped

  • @thecrow0017 its wasn't an official title reign in the books so it didn't count lls!

  • @cs00024

what mr. perfect? Ric Rude? Jake the snake Roberts? British Bull Dog?

  • @cs00024 As great a wrestler as Owen is I think that Scott Hall could be the greatest wrestler to never hold the championship. Hall had greater characters but Owen is without a doubt a better wrestler. Its kind of a toss up for me.

  • @papillonaquatique Going to have to drop Scott Hall into a bigger pile, too. Jake the Snake Roberts, Mr.Perfect Curt Hennig, the Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase, quite a few people from Hogan's Era who didn't get the belt from him were great wrestlers.

  • @mrStorage Mr. Perfect certainly. Ted Dibiase I can live without and Jake the Snake Roberts I have never seen wrestle so I can't say anything about him. Hall though despite his problems was the ultimate Bad Guy. :)

  • @cs00024 BY FAR

  • @cs00024 True, Owen Hart is a legend and worthy of Hall-of-Fame status. It's sad that his wife is so bitter toward the WWF/WWE now.

  • id love to see the shawn michaels of 1995 vs the ric flair of 1983

  • Mr. Fuji does not have to be at Ringside.

  • Shawn micheals dropkick was always underrated in my opinion

  • lol this was fake they talked about this on The Shawn Micheals HeartBreak And Triumph dvd

  • Good up n down match

  • awesome quality

    where do you got it??

  • @thevirushemsley he got it at on the RAW 15th anniversary DVD

  • nice

  • Somebody please get the original match.

  • All that excitement must have made Shawn Michaels pass out.

  • pitty it wasent real

  • It was real !

A sleeping Shawn Michaels was pulled in front of a nightclub in Syracuse by several men from the car and beaten. When the police arrived, the men escaped. A few days later, Michael was due to this incident in a match against Owen Hart fainted in front of the camera.

  • No it wasn't. Him and Kevin Nash suggested the idea to Vince and they ran with it. Getting beat up in Syracuse was real. But this wasn't. Watch The Shawn Michaels Documentary and you'll see.

  • He had this angle because he needed to heal from a real life beating from a bunch of sailors at a club.....

  • I would like to say that I was there live that night, wow how much has changed. This is the night I became an owen fan, you should have seen the caring in his eyes when michaels dropped the sincerity was so intense live...

  • Yeah, Shawn talked about this being a work in his Heartbreak and Triumph DVD.

    Great DVD by the way.

  • shawn should wear these tights again (no homo)

  • @1SirCarlton lol o and a rocks

  • Comment removed

  • thats what you get hbk. screw with the harts.

  • This was fake. HBK needed personal time off. He never suffered any type head injury from this. Just another story line by Vince

  • You're just one of those other jerks who thnk that all we do in the ring is fke ...duhh buddy dont try to think ure the know it all this head injury & the ack injury has actually made Hbk suffer...dont ask how I know it but just put it in yor head that it was the case....

  • I made a Typo its "BACK INJURY" not the "ack injury"

  • ummmmm sure.......and santa is real

  • he was real...not anymore but was.... dnt try to run from the reality budd.... become a wrestler someday & then talk like that .... u'll knw then what i mean now :)

  • dude this was all planned

his back injury happened against taker

  • That injury happened years later. I think the injury that led to this was the knee injury that led to him "retiring" a year later...
