put the onus of proof onto those reporting someone who is a risk. to the father of the exploding panties guy - 'can you please bring us some evidence that what you are saying is true?' [meanwhile he goes on a list B or something - which would automatically kick in a very stringent search] this involves the reporting person in the outcome and provides much more intelligence to us.
Hey here's an idea: let law abiding citizens with registered guns be allowed to carry them on the plane. The only person who can stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. If anything just the idea that our citizen are armed would deter or alter terrorist plans. If they allow pilots to defend themselves with firearms they should allow FREE people to do so within the law. Thats why the 2nd amendment is the number 2 in our civil liberties next to speech.
i appreciate your sarcasm! lol very good. but in reality that the simplest way i can explain to idealists the reality of how the world works. there will ALWAYS be guns (until man creates something more evil) and within every society there will ALWAYS be criminals. using the black market, violent criminals will get hold of weapons to commit crimes and I, as a human being, have a right to defend myself. btw i never said that law abiding gun owners start shooting everyone. i merely stated a LAW.
@alby711 As it is the 9-11 hijackers had to use freakin boxcutters and you want to add guns into the mix? Idiotic is an absolute understatement. Fire a gun inside a plane at 34,000 feet and see what happens when you miss the target. Besides, just as people are free so are businesses. The 2nd amendment does not say they are required to allow guns on or in their property, just that the government cannot pass a law saying you cannot own them.
and that is the exact point Rand Paul was trying to make when he was talking with Rachel Maddow. She kept trying to twist his words around. Your right about private businesses. As long as they (airplane industry) have a trained, armed pilot I'm satisfied.
It started when cynical politicians started using FEAR as a campaign tool.. Still, you'd think that after GENERATIONS of politicians pushing the fear button to win elections, fear-fatigue would eventually set in.
That's it. I'm gonna start a new airline called "Notapussy Airlines" where the passengers bypass all the extraneous bullshit checks that the other idiots have to go through because they know they are more likely to die from a regular plane crash than a terrorist attack.
Abdulmutallab had help getting on the plane. He didn't have a passport. There's an article that mentions a man in a suit talking to an attendant at the airline.
Wait until they can finally leverage the states into implementing the federal ID, and you need to to travel in your own car. The only reason it hasn't happened yet is that many states can't afford the system for it, and are refusing it.

The terrorist have won. America is shaking in its boots. The USA should look to the British to see how they handled the IRA.
Bye, Bye freedom.

You'd think eventually we'd figure out :
49 000 commercial airline flights PER DAY.
160 million flights since 2001
Only two FAILD attempts to blow one up.
STOP WORRYING!
