  • Bass!

  • I don't see how one can be easier than the other. I play both & have my ups and downs with both instruments. Though, I still love bass over guitar.<3

  • Obviously the bass

  • Bass winner !

  • Bass win, but the guitar in this battle is not easy to play XD

  • Bass winer ;D

  • BASS WINER

  • bass DOMINATES! ;)

  • guitar goes hard. But bass... theres just something about it. If youre not hooked almost right away then it may not be for you. I'll be more than happy to pick up the slack:)

  • :O

  • I win

  • @BassNM no

  • to me bass is the winner...

  • I'm having a really hard time deciding between bass and guitar. I have both and the same amount of learning resources for both. This debate is eating away at me. Any tips or suggestins on helping me decide?

  • @9winters5 play both at the same time

  • guitar looks harder

  • the best part is the end part....because there they're playing BOTH TOGETHER and thats the most important thing....both have the same skills both are making wonderful music

  • and can somebody tell me who r this 2 musicians? they're fucking good lol

  • Singer - Face of The Band

Drummer - Legs of The Band

Rhythm Guitarist - Hands of The Band

    Bassist - Heart of Band

Lead Guitarist - Brain of the Band

As you can see 4 a human to work perfectly u need all this 2 work 2gether w/o any of this u would live a great life in today world

This are proven facts base on normal styles music but depending on the style u play it'll slightly vary in other words the bass may be come the "brain of the band" or it'd be the "hands of the band" with the other guitar

  • BASS WINS!! and I´m a guitarist XDDD

  • Brazil Rocks !!!

  • Ain't no doubt, the bass is harder to play physically. Strings are thicker and it takes more strength to press the strings down to the frets. Frets are farther apart too, so you gotta stretch.

  • BASS ...

  • As a great musician once said "Guitars and Drums are like bricks, and bass is mortar.. without it, the bricks will not stick together"

  • @Shazzafrax David Ellefson?

  • @TheMegaDiclonius Billy Sheehan

  • drums

  • BASS WINS!

    FATALITY!

  • que final tan chimba....severo

  • a song without the sound of the bass would be very weird. try listening to a song without bass, and you´ll notice it very quick.

    both are important

  • @jesusespindola "both are important" nothing more to say...

  • Why are you fucktards fighting over which is better or harder? Both are useful or necessary in their own ways. For example: With death metal, bass is often practically reduntant. In stoner, doom, or stoner doom metal, bass is often essential. Get over it - it depends what style you're playing and your abilities as a musician.

And who really gives a flying fuck about technical difficulty when what we should be focussing on is musicianship? You bunch of lousy fuckers don't understand music...

  • the guitar wins

  • Bass is harder

  • Guitar is harder

  • Bass, Lead and Rhythm are all needed. Not one is better than the other. So lets all appreciate the fact that they are all there to help each other.

  • EL BAJO ES EL MJOR INSTRUMENTO EN MI OPINION Y LA GUITARRA SUENA BIEN PERO EL BAJISTA LE METE UNA CAÑA AL BAJO IMPRESIONANTE. YO TAMBIEN SOY AMANTE DEL BAJO

  • Bass players do it deeper... :D

  • the guitarist is really good, but the bass player is better, not better than the guitarist. think that in a guitar scale from 1-10 this guitarist it's a 7, but in a bass scale from 1-10, the bass player it's an 8, guitarist player like this guy, I've seen a lot. but bass player like THAT guy, very few.

  • The bass is good, but the guitar is masterly, obviously wins the guitar, the guitar is the soul of music, and more on metal, a song without a guitar could not be. Joe satriani can transport you to another world, clapton can make you cry, and Santana can make his latin blood vibes on his way of playing, the guitar gained by merit.

  • Bass is amazing theres alot of good bassist its not only the demand for bassist but how unique the insturment is the amount of sounds it can produce it plays a good role in every music genre. Your practically playing half guiter and half drums on one ultimate insturment called the bass your getting the best both worlds

  • The only difference is that you can actually hear the guitar :P

  • Bass>Guitar

  • GUITAR & BASS = REAL MUSIC .

  • never heard of that bassist but he kicks ass

  • SEUS BANDO DE BURRO DO CARALHO ISSO É IRON MAIDEN PORRA

    SEUS FILHO DA PUTA

O DIA QUE ANGRA TOCAR THE NUMBER OF THE BEST O MUNDO ACABA

    SEUS LIXO VAGABUNDO

  • i play bass and i love

  • Yah bass its my birthday soon but im getting a bass subscribe to me ill sub back :D

  • Gah... what a shitfest of tones... =P

  • nahh... guitar won!!!.... Billi sheehan would've kicked this guy's ass...u know what... i've done better bass solos than this guy...yes i'm a bass player..!!

  • É do caralho...

Nem guitarra nem baixo. Cada um do seu lado.

  • bass wins, only because the guitarist absolutely sucks, just complete wanking, cool techniques like 8 finger tapping, but what the fuck is the point in that if you aren't playing actual music, just random notes.

  • oh holy Shith!!!!

  • bass, guitar.... AMAZING MUSIC¡¡¡

  • both^^

  • cool an elephant could enjoy a bass solo, they could hear infrasound

  • @sr5813 lol

  • The thing that bothers me about guitarists that bassists don't have is, for guitar, speed=talent and cool sounding, when that is stupid and untrue.

  • name of the last part song?

  • @gergreentail Ironmaiden: number of the beast

  • bass player kick he ass of tue guitar player but guitar sound more cool just for the distorcion

  • 0:28 is epic

  • bass FTW!!

  • the bass wins

  • they both sucks

  • Fucking amazing. Btw, i play both guitar and bass, and i fond that both are hard in different ways

  • the bass is most dificult than the guitar

  • Bass is Just the shit, alls about da funk n old skool gyall. Nah both instruments are very beutiful and as for which is more diffictult, guitar is in a general aspect but with detail bass is... slap bass can be taken and is on a whole other level, shits on every1!

  • GUITAR <33

  • bass wins.

  • ma il basso non ha 4 corde

  • \m/

  • Fuck dude BASS!!!

  • now im not sayin hes not good im just sayin they are other people who can do the exact same thing just as easily

  • damn dude both are awesome but if i had to pick one id say bass b/c ive seen people go that fast on guitar maybe oh id say a MILLION times but bass now holy shit....

  • duff mckagen the ex bassist from guns n roses said bass is the harder of the two play, but i only play bass so i dunno if guitar is better or not

  • BASS FTW!

  • BASS is great !!!

But guitar is besser !!! :D

  • actually it should be much more difficult to play such things on bass than on guitar...both of them are great...

  • Iron Maiden - The number of the Beast 666 the number of the beast (8)

  • they both win

  • Dang, talk about an impressive display of skill. Guitar and bass duels are always interesting, and there's no exception here. I really enjoy both of their playing.

A question, though: Does anyone know if this was improvised, or if these solo's were written prior to the preformance?

  • probably half improv and half written : /

  • everything kiko loureiro plays is improvised. i recommed guitar fans to listen to his solo stuff.

  • what the fuck???dont give your opinion when you're not a musician, so if you downgrade the karma of pukis18, think it a little more

  • dude has the exact custom made bass guitar that I have... nice! (Ibanez custom series 97)

  • Iron Maiden - Number of the best

  • what is the song 1:46? pls!

  • Number of the beast by iron maiden

  • bass sounds bad compared to the guitar (instrument wise), but the bass player had the skill here

  • @Toro953

you just don't have the ear for the instrument apparently.

  • Fuck yeah bass won, son

  • yeah, because the guitar part is totally tastefull and not wanking at all.

  • bass my ass

  • you like bass in your ass? What?

  • doesn't fit

  • JUST AWESOME BASS!!!!

  • bass won up your ass

  • bass :D

  • felipe andreolly bass win

  • Comment removed

  • It's Andreoli

  • BASS WIN

  • bassist wins : D

  • props for the guy just standing around..xD

my head would honestly explode from all that awesomeness

  • Aaah great bassist! :D

  • eg. 0:52

  • I vote bassist. It's harder to solo with bass and just look at those fingers fly. The Guity sounds really good though, they both do.

  • Jpréferre la basse mais sa l'orai mieu fait si il aurait me de la saturation dans sa babasse <_<

  • great solo both guitar and bass

  • OMG!!!! this is one of the greatest bass/guitar battles ive ever seen!! *****!!

  • pffff like I said before: in this video guitar is just efects... and bass have a normal sound,

so guitar wins (just in this video)

but when bass have the correct sound it rulezzzzz!!!

  • It´s not about how it sounds. In this, it was about how fast you can play, so...BASS WINS

  • I hate it when people disrespect the bass

without bass the lead guitarist is worthless but without lead guitar bass can still hold its own

  • I hate when people doesn't understand a comentary...

I just think that if the bass is good,

it would be better with efects as a guitar...

  • @p8ntbal1er is exactly what an asshole bassplayer would say. there are many bands without bass players, they seem to be going on just fine. the fact of the matter is there are few bass players that are notably very skilled, look at the bassist of ac/dc.

  • @jackofscythes lol i guess thats true. and im a proud asshole bassist! :D

  • @jackofscythes I'm gonna encourage you to explore some more music before you make such a conclusion. There are just as many skilled bassists as guitarists.

  • @Imesuckaholla I've "explored" all types of music, i am merely pointing out that there are very few notable bassists in popular genres these days. Bootsy Collins, Mccartney, and Mark King are incredible bassists, but their music (well, excluding mccartney) is virtually uknown to most people these days. but the most popular bassists of this age suck. pete wentz, robert trujillo, cliff williams?!! their awful.

  • @jackofscythes I will agree that skilled players of any instrument remain unknown, and many popular bands have little to no musicianship. However, when a pop artist is in the studio they've got the baddest dudes in the business playing on the tracks. So pop music is filled with both the good and the bad, and that's how it has always been.

  • @jackofscythes dude all the famous bands got a great bass player (except acdc). Bass FTW!!!

  • @ganareporever holy god dude this conversations still goin' on?? XD

I know a good amount of famous bands that have shitty bass players too though. that's all i was saying...... i think...... fuck, what were we all arguing about 7 months ago?

  • @p8ntbal1er i tend to see it the other way around. however bass is definately a very necessary asset to a band.

  • @p8ntbal1er

Thumbs up, My favorite player in Iron Maiden was Steve Harris! He was one of the main influences in my guitar playing!

  • @p8ntbal1er Are you out of your mind? BOTH are needed

  • @p8ntbal1er Well I hate it when people forget about the drummer, they put him/her in the back of the band, and the camera is usually on either the guitarists or the vocalist. Drummers need love too, they're the rhythm and the backbone of the band. lol

But really, all positions in the band rock, it just isn't the same when there isn't a bass guitar, or an electric guitar, or a drummer, or a vocalist. They all work together.

  • @MechWarrior324 i feel the same about the bassist the camera is barely on the bass player.

  • @p8ntbal1er man i agreed with you , your the best bass lover like me dude i agreed with every single each one of you words

  • @p8ntbal1er Bass aint shit witrhout guitar so shut the fuck bitch your pissed cause you cant learn guitar!

  • @FaimlyGuyFan Dude, chill out. He's not saying that anything is better. I can play both guitar and bass and from what I learned playing in a band or jamming out alone, is everyone needs to play in unison to make a track sound good. Bass is just as important guitar when it comes to playing with a band and I assure you if you take the bass out of some of your favorite tracks it wouldnt sound as good. You're entitled to your own opinion and I respect that but don't bash something that has value.

  • @FaimlyGuyFan lol dude both are important, trying hearing rush or metallica without bass and theres a big differance and bass is actually harder than guitar contrary to popular belief, so youre wrong about telling that kid because he cant play guitar and bass like drums set the beat, so bass is like the spine so you cant say its shit without guitar

  • @p8ntbal1er You mean, without the ryhthm guitar, the lead is worthless lol. Its not like you can actually hear much bass in a lot of metal songs

  • @p8ntbal1er No it can't.The bass just helps the main guitar. In the main guitar stops its over.If the bass stops...no one will even notice

  • @ivailoto5 Thats untrue. The Bass is actually better in way and the guitar is better in ways. This is actually a big BIAS going on here.Im not apart of this....

  • muderbydeath don't u mean iron maiden for your info instead of iron miden

  • i don't think so .

i really the sound of the bass

  • the bassist is more skilled, but the metal-distorsioned guitar sounds better. you can play almost anything that its gonna sound really cool with that distorsion... cant do the same on the bass unfortunetly

  • lol, alot of stuff sound shitty with distortion on the guitar, and you can put distortion on a bass and it will make it sound better. In fact when you put alot of distortion on a guitar it amplifies every mistake you do and clean like the bassists sound is.....cleaner!

  • its kind of completely the opposite man

  • Maybe not so complex, but at least it's something interesting and just as audible at the guitar and drums.

  • I don't get it...

None of what they're playing makes sense.

    It's just fast.

  • YOUR A FUCKING IDIOT.

  • Both of these guys are really skilled but in this case the bassist knocked the shit out of the guitarist!! Cuz what the bassist is playing demands a a lot of practice compared to what the guitar plays. :-P

  • BASS WON DEAL WITH IT DILHOLES!!

  • Lol, c'mon bass man, slap or pop, somthing! Lol, he's still good.

  • i my oppnion bass is better. i just like the way it sounds. dont be an ass and say im stupid for saying that

  • man...this is a tight one here

i'm gunna say bass, bass solos like that doen't come often because everyone and your grandma play guitar.

  • Bass doesn't take half as much talent as guitar. More or less anyone who can play guitar can play bass but not the other way round.

  • bull shit bass can be played in too many different ways, bass is just as hard as guitar you dont see half as many great bassists as you do guitarists, and bass can come as a 6 string aswell how can that not be as hard as guitar?

  • yeh if your gonna play shitty root note repetitious lines. try some slap.

  • omg you suck

Bass is just as hard as guitar!

    freakin idiot

  • I know what you mean, it CAN be just as hard I mean bands in general the bass players don't do much except pluck a note or two every few seconds and don't show any talent. Sorry if I gave you the wrong idea.

  • bands in general? That would mean jazzbands in general? Or funkbands in general?

Bass is boring to play, if you want to have it to be boring to play. A good bassplayer creates his own style to fit into whatever music he is playing, and that is as hard for a bassplayer as it is for a guitarist!

  • Rock bands, not funk or jazz. Bass players in Jazz are good but in rock bands don't show any talent.

  • You mean MOST rock. I know what you mean, but look at Ryan Martinie(Mudvayne), Les Claypool(Primus), or Tim Commerford(Rage Against The Machine). Those are good rock bassists. Most rock or metal bassists just make bass lines from root notes of the guitar.

  • Wrong.

  • You can always tell who the ignorant, jealous or flat-out moronic people are when obvious talent is accosted by mouth-breathers.

Fact 1: This bassist does not suck, far from it. No basis for this at all.

Fact 2: The drums are a rhythm oriented instrument. Gosh, that must mean soloing on the drums is a mistake too.

Fact 3: Fuckin retards are about. RUN!

  • davidgzmn12345 is wrong who ever said youre not allowed to solo or shred on a bass? just because its different and that stuff was made up on guitar first, that doesnt mean you cant do it on a bass. haha pwned

  • hmm ,hes a good bass player , but his mistake is tring to play the bass like a guitar.

the bass is much more of a rythmic intrument , its not very suited for soloing and so.

Bass really shows off in things like blues because of the nature of the music ( catchy beats instead of speed solos )

You simply cannot compare a guitar to a bass , the only thing they have in common is that they both have strings , and even in that they are different

  • bass just rock!

  • guitar rules !

  • Who's Heard Thats Song before I Forgot whats the name

  • Maiden's The Number Of The Beast?

  • that was one of the crazioust bits of guitaring ive ever seen amazin

  • That bass player fuckin sucks. He's horrible. Scales and speed are all he knows.

  • ne seri
