am an african who is raised in holland and must say that your comment is very true. colonialism/ slavery has left many deep scars in the psyche of people of african descent and one of them is unfortunately self- loathing.

Do i need war or past mistakes to tell my children who their grand father is (or was)?. @khepraseti Well, I believe that all that is necessary to get from past generations is their genetic code.
It really doesn't matter who or what or where your ancesters were. Especially if it doesn't help you become a better person.
We are all 99.9% identical. Just a few genetic markers apart.
And digging around our backyard only brings up dust that clouds our present.
Every generation gets smarter, and what you are talking about is backwards thinking. Hate flourished in the past!
