all the shoulder fired 50 cal rifles have a very large muzzle brake on the end of the barrel. they direct the blast from the rifle to the rear, and that greatly reduces the recoil. all you feel is about the same recoil as you would from a shotgun.
the barrel has a re-coil action just like a large gun on a wars ship when the you see the barrel take the shock this gun has the same idea you shoot it with alot less kick than you think would come from a 50 cal
