@goreziad they wore the black panzer wraps but that was late war an it still wasnt common. they wore assualt gun wrap which was green. in our case we got the tank an had this re-enactment before the uniforms came

Didnt stug commanders wear grey uniforms not black ? or were the ss different?

the whole stug crew would wear the grey/greenish assault wrap, but later on in the war the germans used what ever uniforms they could cause of shortages. it is correct for the 9thss to have black panzer wraps mixed with the assault wrap in stugs, i have seen a few pics in the la hohenstaufen book of them in holland being issued there stug and black panzer wraps

The 7th and 8th panzer companies of the 9th SS were equiped with StuGs due to shortages of Mk IV an Mk V panzers. In fact the Heimdal book (which is probably one of the best research resources for the 9th) shows StuGs on their table of organization. It was not uncommon for panzer divisions in 1944 to be equiped this way. If the StuGs were being used as replacements for panzers the crews would wear black panzer wraps.

More detail, the Stug III is an assault gun. Kinda wierd, the Stug III in Band of Brothers look boxy, a real Stug III looks nore like a, you know, Stug.... By the way, why the Germans speak Engish??? Are they Germans or Disguised US troops, sorry as I never see this movie before.
