  • for some reason i find rap to be alot better with actual instruments

  • @jamoandtheguitar you need to check out a band called

The Roots....they are amazingingly beautifully stunningly sick Blackthought from The Roots is one of the most underrated rappers ever.

Mast Rap that comes out now is solely to make quick easy money but there are some people out there that are amazing and have genuine talent and uniqueness.

I dont know who arranged Dizzies set for him but Dizzie can afford to employ some great peops to play for him now

  • @Applebaum Dizzee himself would have arranged this, he writes his own songs.

  • I realy like Dizzee... but please be quit while Guthrie is playing his solo. I want to figure out what he is playing :D

  • Much better than the version on release. The band is really groovin.Much more respect for Dizzy after seein this.Might show the yanks a ting or two as well. After all rap did come from Jamaica. So the Brits are just bringin it home really.irie blue..

  • That guitarist there is THEE Guthrie Govan himself - one of today's very top players!

And I have NO idea what he's doing there :D

  • @JonSebastianF The man has vision, I'd kill to throw down guitar with dizzee rascal

  • that made so much noise over guthies solo :( kinda couldn't hear it fs

  • to HeavensNaughtyAngel - the third guys name is Daniel Pearce

  • dizzee usually sings this with chrome and a third man, whats his name he was on pop idol?, its driving me mad i can't remember!

  • i reli like these version 2

  • this version is the best it was on MTV HD

  • such an intense buildup :D tis' like an orgasm when the Guthrie goes into his solo.

  • Thats Guthrie Govan right?

  • pendulum's rob swire on the drums ????? 0.18

  • @nathanlee2009 this will sound totally un PC, but I thought pendulums drummer was a black dude. I seen a vid of them at download from last year, was rocking some shades and a sleeveless shirt I think

  • @herman5050 whats unpc about that? lol

  • i've gained so much respect for dizzee rascal since i saw this on tv, he's amazing. great touring musicians too. i'm not really in to rap music, but wow...

  • @donteverwannabeyoux i agree with you, groovy version... the lyrics are so hard to pull off with rapping since they go so close together and all rhyme (as usual i know but also cos of his style) its brilliant - the original of this tune is soooo bloody good!

  • @donteverwannabeyoux Dizzee and his band did such a wicked job bringing his songs to life. you should check out a band called The Roots

they r amazing plus an Artist called Mos Def a song called 'Roses'.

rap isnt the crappy pop rap thats pumped out now real rap is Hip Hop they keep signing and promoting the blingy misogynistic stupid rap cos they think thats wat will sell. real imaginative, intelligent beautiful hip hop is now like hidden treasure when it shud be celebrated

  • love it

  • I wish they'd shut up so I could hear the solo.

    Everything he plays is gold.

  • i prefer this to the original its so good :D

  • that guitarist must have fingers of steel

  • @tkjp999

he certainly does...Guthrie Govan is the best guitarist in the world! his album Erotic Cakes is a masterpiece!

  • that's Guthrie Govan! he is a living legend!

  • i should know these things......

  • @tkjp999 that's guthrie govan man...

  • The drummer is called Simon Bettison, he is part of the Young Punx Collective, musicians, singers etc, all very accomplished. The electric proms performance was outstanding.

  • The drummers name is Alex Reeves and he's played session durms for me on several projects we've worked on. We chatted extesively about this session afterwards. he plays with a Cambridge band called Ezio as well as doing session work in London.

  • The backing singer lady in the back is my singing teacher Yolanda! Also sings with Massive Attack.

  • @mark1800 wow i thought it was vula who's basement jaxx

  • @lambie1985 You are both right - Vula and Yolanda are both singing!

  • oh dear god, I am so not used to hearing a U.K rapper. Lol.

  • he's not a rapper u punk, he's a "M-C". LMAO

  • @djreibread its called grime, not rap

  • My bad. No need to get offended guys, I didn't know the difference. Never even heard of grime.

  • If anyone hasn't seen Dizzee's BBC electric proms performance...You should!

Guthrie Govan is the star of the show. The man is the most accomplished musician i've seen in a long long time.

  • dizze like his fat birds dont he:P

  • does anyone have the guitar chords for this?

  • i cnt remember the drummers name name but he's out of a group called earl thomas and the paddy milner band, there ace

  • the drummer looks like he's come from a 118 fancy dress.

  • YES!

  • does anyone know the chords for this??

  • The drummer looks like he stepped of the Saboutage video from BBoys,

agea with yee all about the instruments and playing :) ragh

  • what an awsome acoustic version!! :)

  • ...and if Dizzee decides to give up rapping, he could start a new career in jazz scat singing...

  • i love guthrie govan!!!

  • this is great, top guitar too ! nice to see real musicians...

  • I agree. That 'top guitar' is Mr Guthrie Govan - a man with no peers.

  • anyone know where i can get a tab for that?

  • Is that the Rugrats theme tune at the start? :P

  • lol! somehow this version works... maybe cause it's more laidback than Bonkers.

  • also excellant guitar playing !

  • better than the origional version :D great work Dizzee ! :D

  • Out of this world!!!!!

  • i want this version

  • tat would be guthrie govan

  • Nice guitar playing Guthrie. :o)

  • flikin channels & couldn't believe it, Guthrie Govan on the telly!

  • SOO AWESOME

  • Fucking Awesome Performance

  • that woman backing singer is well annoying

  • Simply Amazing!

  • i love this version

  • it is the best song ever go dizzie you have made the best song that i have listen to . no 1 has made a better son than you dizzie

  • Try harder.

  • i so want to learn that on my guitar!! been trying for the last 2 days to figure it out but its a bit weird..

  • haha same

  • don't bother, just listen and enjoy - Dizzie has sneakily enlisted the most complete genius guitarist ever!

  • Guthrie Govan back to sessioning?

  • bass player is from the band "young punx" who guthrie also plays with.

  • heard he was on the show*

  • Its all about guthrie govan, I heard it was on the show and had to watch it, I dont like Dizzee's new stuff but this performance was actually pretty cool, sort of made me remember why i liked dizzee in the first place...

  • wel that was.....

    awesome

  • Dizzee just get's better and better. I was interested to see what he would do with his performance but I wasn't expecting this for either... what on earth is he going to do for the third song on Friday?! I can't wait!!

  • this shows that no matter what genre good music is appreciated. a country guitarist with respect for a gime rapper and vice versa. just appreciate talent people

  • Totally agree, works great with this song especially and shows how talented he is

  • This was so good. Dizzee is amazing anyway but with a band he murks it too bad!

  • Wooo Guthrie Govan! The song has a decent swing going for it, actually. I'm not a fan of Dizzee or anything, but it's alright :P

  • jools holland is going down, specially with this shit.

  • guthrie govan lives near me.. his brother is my guitar teacher :)

    HE IS AMAZING

  • Its so good to see Guthrie Govan on national television. I hope these performances will land him some future coverage on Jools.

Dizzee and the rest of the band are incredible too.

  • Guthrie = God (or maybe Jesus)

  • This shows how popular music has become. SHITE. Nothing against dizzee's early stuff.

  • No, the original of this shows that, this version shows how much fun Dizzee can actually have and restores my faith in him tbh

  • The best bit of this is the start and the end - Guthrie Govan on acoustic guitar - sheer genius. Shame the band and Jools failed to acknowledge his essential contribution to the whole feel of this song.

  • YES Dizzee!

  • that song was all about the guitarist... awesome!

  • Awesome. Do you know Guthrie Govan? If not you should check him out. Arguably the best and most versatile guitarist on the planet.

  • nah i dont know him but i think im gonna have to check him out!

  • who is the drummer......awesome too!
