As far as I can remember her surname was only introduced in the episode where Michael meets Ann's parents and I think it was only so that Mrs. Featherbottom could say to Michael: "Well it was after he saw you pounding that sweet piece of veal amhhmhmhm" ;p

@pistachio180 what I absolutely love about the running gag of mean comments about Ann, is how it reflects that double standard of expectations when it comes to guys and girls looks. George-Michael isn't ugly or unattractive per se, but he's no hottie. Same with Ann, yet everyone in the family feels G-M could and should do better than her. Only sitcom I can recall every seeing that actually acknowledges this somewhat sexist line of thinking rather than reproduce it.
