Notice how 'Uncle Mortimer' stops Shemp from checking out 'Miss Jones' but sits by while he dances with 'Helen Blazes' & says nothing? Perhaps he doesn't want Miss Jones to be corrupted but knows it's too late for Helen? I lay awake nights & wonder about such things!!
Dear I'mA Chowderhead,According to a recent internet radio interview..Mrs.Joan Howard Maurer(Moe's daughter)and Shemp's grandaughters..they have stated that Shemp died of a ceribral hemorage..Mrs.Maurer said that her aunt Gert and her parents were there when the report about Shemp's death happened.
The film is the same..except..we see how Shemp died and we meet the demons..who are trying to prevent him from reforming Moe and Larry from ripping off "The DePeysters"with their phoney "Pen writting under whip cream device".
iroic but sad that Shemp died just 7 months after.
I felt sad just watching the beginning. :(
same way i feel when i watch the last of the Curly shorts.
they're long gone but they still impact up in a big way.
