  • you've made a basis and surface analysis. but i believe you are young. in time you will see.

  • I thought that the comments section was meant for comments on the clips and how well AMVs are made. I could be wrong but WHO REALLY CARES ABOUT IF DISNEY IS EVIL OR NOT? If you don't like Disney, don't watch a clip with Disney in it. SIMPLE!

  • in the info you ask simply, "how is it an evil cooperation"

answer; because they care about profits more then the well being of their market, in this case children (which makes it even worse). When the dollars is more valuable then a child's innosence, money is the bottom line not the child. 2nd imho is racism, sexism, or unequal minority rights anyone of those would work.

  • @xxxxdarksidexxxx, what you just described is every company. you're absolutely ignorant. do you honestly think that any successful franchise doesn't care more about their profits than their audiences? please. plus, i really don't see any harmful racism, sexism, etc etc in Disney. i consider myself intelligent and confident for my age and gender, and i'm not racist. in fact, Disney has taken giant steps to avoid racism in their latest films. nice spelling, by the way. you seem very cultured. (:

  • I had to watch that documentary for a class as well and I cannot believe how much I disliked it. They took absolutely every clip in that movie out of context. Not to mention the fact that if the stories weren't mildly based on truth, they were based on REALLY OLD stories....when women were subjected to poor treatment. The whole movie was just ridiculous.

  • "when women were subjected to poor treatment" ummm did it stop? Cus last time I checked women have been miss treated sence the begining of time and it isn't going to stop any day soon.

"they took every clip in the movie out of context" really? I dont think thats true either, and for you to generalize that way doesn't help your case.

disney is 100x more evil then mouse monolpoly describes, I THINK THAT DOCUMENTARY TOOK IT EASY ON DISNET!

  • a. "when women were subjected to poor treatment" meaning...when beating was legal and there was no such thing as school....aka a freaking long time ago. And yes every clip was taken out of context. The whole part about pocahontas and the "savages" was based on the popular thought of intruding "pioneers" that displaced millions of people. The whole pocahontas movie is about tolerance and standing up for what is right and in case nobody noticed, the native americans call the english savages too.

  • b. I grew up a Disney kid and grew up to be a successful, independent woman who takes care of herself. I have decently strong feminist beliefs and deplore how girls are growing up too fast. I do not for one minute think the old Disney cartoons subjected me to any problems in my childhood. What little girl doesn't want to be a princess when they grow up. It's disgusting "role models" like Jessica Simpson and Paris Hilton that do the most damage to women.

  • c. When were some of those movies made? Movies like Dumbo and The Jungle Book, with their blatantly racist characters were made in the thirties and forties before the civil rights movement had even begun. In a company run by rich, powerful, white males, I am sorry but there is no way in hell racism is escapable.

  • The documentary, similar to that of The Corporation, attempts to show a different side of Disney which many people today do not notice at all. Similarly, one could argue that your video response only depicts certain virtues of Disney, and not all its virtues. One could easily preach values but not practice them, aka, the quote that disney toys are made for children by children....

  • Way to stick up for Disney. People who criticize Disney are people who cannot accept the idea of virtue being rewarded with fame and fortune

  • huh?

are you implying we should teach our children that all virtues have rewards?

people who criticize disney are usually educated, cultured, and have traveled VS the typical disney supporter, uneducated, their idea of culture is McDonalds, or they have too much dam money and use disney as a form of control of behavior.

not saying disney is all bad, but then again you wouldn't want to know my definition of bad, but its 1000x worse then you think it is!

  • oh n sleepyjean ur a stupid stereo typical ignorant american girl/boy. u shud thank those ppl who made that documentary in order to wake ppl like u up.

  • wow u guys r missing the point of the doc. u guys ryt now ... just now witnessed sexism. the movie has the typical strong n dominant male and the the weak, skinny waise but curvious female. and if u have seen the movie n actually paid attention to it u can c that ders is much more subliminal sexism than wut i just previously mentioned.

  • sexism is one of MANY ISSUES thousands of mothers and fathers and families have with disney. you are not alone, don't let the uneducated and unexperienced bother you!

  • You guys are all arguing whether Disney is evil or not. But as one of my profs always said before we wrote a paper/exam, "if you're going to say something is fact you better have the proof to back it up or you're the one with a false arguement in the end..." SO, tell me, if it's ONLY the UNEDUCATED who stick up for Disney and the EDUCATED who are against it, where's you're proof? You prove this arguement to me and I will side with you.

  • Also, I was raised on Disney... Aladdin, The Lion King, Hercules, just to name a few. I don't think I turned out too bad, I don't think I'm uneducated either. I mean, I may not be the smartest, but I do have a college Diploma and I'm working on two degrees. So, you have your "opinions" and I have mine. Don't state your "opinions" as fact. You stop your kids from watching Disney and I'll let my kids watch it. See, something Disney taught me as a kid... tolerance! I "respect" your opinion...

  • i respect ur opinion too .. n i respect u also.. look i dont judge peoples brain power on what schools they go to , because for me , school emphasizes on book smart and memory skills instead of imagination, creativity and reasoning and logic. but even in a confusing and demoralizing place like school you can learn about psycology and sociology which i would def. recomend to you if you wanna start knowing some real truth. there you can learn about the effects of imagery and suggestions

  • @jbrideout eh?? there's ppl who think you get stupid for watching Disney??!! O.o

  • at least they make their movies as close to historical FACT and PROOF with the treatment of women and issues like slavery and womens rights that were going on for the TIME PERIOD in which the movie is based.

"The EDUCATED" obviously have no imagination left anymore.......or never had it to begin with

  • @everlastking, you're forgetting that the male started out as a complete outcast, and that Meg strongly resists love. she doesn't just let Hercules "rescue" her-- in fact, she first she saves him. sure, she's curvaceous, and Herc is strong and apparently "dominant" (even though he's the one gulping and becoming nervous when Megara comes on to him), but Meg has serious brains, spunk, and is willing to make sacrifices for good things, which i think is admirable in a heroine. btw, nice spelling. (:

  • 3:28 so sad ;(

  • THank you. I hate that documentary so much.

  • fab vid, who sings this?

  • his name is Craig Sharpe... he was the runner-up on Canadian Idol a couple years ago... from Newfoundland

  • Wow that was pretty awesome...you brought out a good point...I loved it.
