  • While shorts may look a little unprofessional, there is nothing wrong with wearing shorts. Here in the U.S. in my department we are allowed to wear shorts during the summer months because it is so hot. Granted they are navy blue like our uniforms so they fit in nicely.

  • He should have whacked a pair of trousers on before he left station to be fair....it was probably brought up on the debrief...

  • Where is this

  • who the fuck cares if anyone was wearing shorts, you assholes need a life

  • All the negative comments about the driver wearing shorts and 'casually walking around', A, the guy was probably in the gym or playing volleyball when they got the shout, is he expected to change into more appropriate clothing before they turnout thus wasting valuable minutes, "hang on a few minutes guv whilst I find my trousers", B, if YOU start to frantically run around, then EVERYONE will follow soon follow, next thing is someone trips arse over tit or slips over!

  • @Scousefire also you are not required to wear long clothes if you are a driver. Drivers do not have to wear PPE (personal protective equipment). They also do not have to run around because as soon as the PTO switch is engaged in the driver water can be delivered. Driver is also the pump operator!

  • STILL NO EXCUSE FOR THE DRIVER WEARING SHORTS, HE SHOULD HAVE HAD A PAIR OF LONG TROUSERS ON HIS SEAT SO HE COULD SLIP THEM ON OR AT LEAST A PAIR OF TRACKIES, RE the remarks about SCBA the UK System is best in the world, know a lot of UK Based US Military Firemen who when they got back home took our system for their US FD's so at least someone knows how many wearers there are in the building and how long before they will run out of air.

  • @Pete7647 I am a retired FF. I was an AO/Driver Pumper opperator, Shorts were fine but he should have at least put on his turnout pants.

  • thanks for the info mate,

  • possibly a retained crew,,a lot of the time the driver of a retianed crew kits up at the scene,,

  • @mortgagewizard40 there are no retained fire crews in London Fire Brigade. He was probably in the gym when they got the shout

  • wtf ?!!! shorts???

  • Useless Fire Brigade guy, very slow while coming down frm vehicle, like nothing happens

  • nice PPE the driver is wearing :P

  • Why do people stop recording when its getting interesting? FOR FUCK SAKE YOU PRICKS!

  • Yes they do but we call it ba ( breathing apparatus)

  • so do the firefighters in london not use SCBAs. Not trying to sound like an ass but i have watched a few videos and i never see them wearing packs. Do they not do interior fire attacks

  • Were they playing 5-a-side before the shout came in !!?! :) Good brave lads n lassies

  • i was there i was heading to upton park station

  • love London. I'll take London over New York any day of the week.

  • Uh I saw the fire. I was there for christmas, first time in London actually.

I must say that Upton park is a filthy place :(. I mean I was really really dissapointed when I saw how filthy it was, especially the market areas.

  • @Ovidiu91 thats all the pakis that make it filthy

  • @Ovidiu91 You haven't seen filthy till you have been to South Los Angeles, California (Watts, South Central) That looks like the one of the cleaner parts that you would find in Los Angeles. I work down there so much that seeing the poverty and the violence just doesn't bother me anymore. It is sad actually. Once you see someone's head missing because they got shot point blank with a shotgun nothing really bothers you anymore till you see something worse.

  • look up "LAFD Task Force 66". It is about the LAFD the sound doesn't work on it but it gives a great look into the worst neighborhood in Los Angeles, California

  • This looks like an afternoon, so would be typical of Crews to be in the gym as most Outside duties, Training or community work are usually completed by about 3pm.

  • I'm curious as to something i'd do in this situation. Would it be better to close the road (ie stop traffic, move people away) as a member of the public for safety reasons, coz a fire like that could easily turn worse? But then that would create traffic for the fire brigade to get through. I'd try and help, but do which?

  • i presume the driver was in the middle of a workout when they got the shout!! good video!!

  • @scobey5050 Looks like it lol. My first thought was 'What the hell?!?'

  • @scobey5050 Thanks i read this comment and my brain kicked in, they drive on the right side!.....i was wondering why the passenger would have no gear on!.........But now i realize he was driver
