Male ligers are sterile, female ligers are able to reproduce.

Male ligers continue to grow until they die, due to the growth hormone they inherit from their tiger parent. They sometimes grow to twice the size of a normal male lion. Scary.

It is illegal to consume tigers in many countries including the US. But it is not illegal to consume ligers. Some are bred for human consumption. Even scarier.
