You should have put a wallpaper launcher aspect changes when it has a nice wallpaper plus some app drawers show a transparent dimmed wallpaper

...if you have a problem with something as dumb as stuff taking longer because of an effect or how the icons are spaced there are options to change all that in the preferences for most ofthose launchers

go launcher ex is the best. so many different themes u can get. works very well on my Atrix. No lagging at all.
