  • Given that this is supposed to be based on the Gen2 CRX I think the power output is a letdown. The non-VTEC Gen2 CRX made 96kw and the VTEC models made 117.9kw.

    And although I still like the car for it's shape and potential I think that exhaust sounds like somebody coughing in church, trying not to be too loud so as to disturb the person in front of them :(

  • Enthusiat cars dont sell anymore. Fans like myself read and watch enthusiast media and it feels like there are lots of interested people building cool cars but reality says fun cars now represent less then 1% of new car sales.

  • I was a Honda person for nearly 10 years. Moving from the integra, to prelude to an S2000. However Honda shows little interest in making enthusiast cars these days, especially for people a little more grown up and looking for more than a hot hatch. I've moved on to Alfa Romeo who make brillian V6 engines. I still have a soft spot for Hondas but until they make something with a bit of pace my money and loyalty will stay away.

    Not in relative terms such as HP/torque/Litre or fuel economy, but compared to a K24 offerring but it produces more torque and HP in absolute terms which matters more when driving. Also, Italians make some of the best sounding engines across the entire rev range, not just after the big cams kick in. Its also very nice having torque on tap before 5000rpm but still have a free revving engine.

    If Honda introduced a V6 coupe in Australia, I'd be very happy to car shopping again.

  • @sleepyf1 In Canada we have the Honda Accord V6 Coupe but saddly, its a front wheel drive...... for 46 000$ ! ....oh and yeah Honda dont sell lot of them ..... it's an obvious fail of course ...260hp on a FWD pffffff !

    Honda Accord V6 is worst Accord ever made in terms of handling and power. Europeans rather stick with type S and 200 bhp 4-banger (much better).

    No one is really making beefy sport cars nowadays. I believe Honda would be the best company to introduce one to the world. For now, I'll stick to my 98 V6 Accord Coupe O.o

  • @shinkane I totally agree dude, it's not like the CR-Z now gets amazing mpg anyways. I'm the weight of the car would help it too, but it definitely needs a K20 fast! Thats for sure

  • I am chomping at the bit to get a Honda CRZ but compared to the cars you hear in the background the CRZ sounds weak.

    Of course if I was in the market for another performance vehicle I wouldn't be interested in a hybrid in the first place.

  • To me,the reason behind the 6500 rpm redline is in the name of "GAS SAVING"! It is reasonable enough for most of the driver! The combo gas+electric engine are a superb GENIUS from HONDA, and the CRZ is a very SPECIAL Honda no matter what people' opinion are? I personal love this CRZ and Honda'point of view behind the creation of this car! if you love to rev, there will be $8000 USD 1.5 engine upgrade parts from SPOONSPORT! For me, a combo of 18 inches wheels + lower suspension are the way to go!

Eventhough I think Honda is so capabable of building such an awesome hard top convertible S3000 to compete direct with the new Z4 or upcoming SLK. I just hope that Honda will hear all the fan's crying and hurry up to offer the Si or even the type R for the CRZ! meanwhile I am dreaming of the S3000 too! a direct fuel injection V-6, a God sent 6 speed stick? chaos

  • @abunaiN1 why does Every one forget where Honda's heart is The 1st Gen CRX! if it was not for the 83-87 Crx honda would be in the dumps! the CRZ is a Disgrace to what it was It get WORSE mpg then a Prius which is Heavier by 500lbs and is Slower then My HF EVER was! Hatchs and Teggys were awesome But The real Heart was From the CRX (Civic Renaissance model X )

  • @hobotechMASTER Not necessarily. CRX's are one of the most stolen cars because parts for them are in such high demand due to their recent role reprisal as a contender in racing. They can be bought for cheap and get killer mpg. Problem is they often call for complete or very heavy restores. With parts being mostly scavenged already, yeah, it's easier to swap engines with something newer and more trendy. Not seeing CRX's win? Watch more events.
