well i guess it depends on the person. i have short layers. just very few. like my layers by my bangs don't usually go in the pony tail and then it looks weird. if you have them any shorter than mine, you would most definitely need bobby pins holding yer hair or it would look weird. but if you leave yer hair down shorter layers can make the tease look good; if you want it super big [:
