Very impressive. Used to see these heavies pulling low loaders down the Bouroughbridge Road York ~ they were impressive and very beautiful to a small boy. Although think from an engineering point of view the hole edge distance on those vessel flanges is a bit small ~ less than 1 diameter!!!
It seems to me that the cars and trucks of that time are more beautiful than those of today, that goes for the women too check out 5.21 what a beauty!
great vid ,i live just outside yarm and have heard of massive loads been transported via yarm from stockton to ici from this era!!!!!! just seems a long way round! and a difficult one too,can you shed any light mally?
Wow - amazing accomplishment for the time! Idea: Maybe we should the public should watch this before moaning about being 'held up' by an Abload today.... :-)
Fantastic!! I love to see these old Scammells doing what they were built for, and all the other old vehicles ........very nostalgic!! Thanks for posting this great film ;)

This video is real Heavy Haulage History! Have a look to the very lowline bogies, designed by the famous Crane Trailers of Dereham Ltd. company!
