@zidane102 umm what do you think Lexus did back in the 90s when they first introduced the LS400 to America? It basically copied what BMW and Mercedes had, a full sized luxury car, but for less! Lexus was introduced to the US and in other countries because Toyota (Parent company) thought that in other countries, nobody would spend $60 grand for a Toyota Celsior, what it's known as. Hyundai is simply doing what Toyota did. And umm, you might wanna do a spell check when making comments please!

@RJBbass2000 The difference between the Lexus & this Hyundai is when Lexus came out with the LS400 in '90, it was BETTER than it's Mercedes & BMW counterparts... & by a long way. The LS400 totally raised the bar for luxury vehicles at that time & like you said, was offered at a lower price that the competition. This Hyundai is nice but has a long way to go if it is truly going to be on the same level as a Lexus LS, BMW 7, or Merc S class, it is just a cheaper alternative, that's all.

@JaguarLexusCentral That's true. And Hyundai has come a long way from being just a cheap alternative. Some even say that the Equus was rushed into production, but some don't realize that the Equus has been in production since '99 as a joint venture between Hyundai and Mitsubishi. And if I remember, I think the Hyundai called it the Centennial in South Korea, Mitsubishi had 2 versions, and I think one of them was called the Dignity. But the new Equus will have 429hp. Hardly a cheap alternative.

Hyundai is kicking ass. Today it is not who makes the car, but how well the car is made* Nice. If I was I in the control of Hyundai I would change the name of the car company to Genesis. Nissan was called Datsun before the name change. Yes change the name to Genesis.
