Strat vs SG (Assassin - Muse)

My Line 6 spider solid state amp is going into the dumpster and being replaced with a real amp. A tube driven Fender with spring reverb. The amp makes more difference than the guitar. Anyone who has played long enough knows that. You want good sound invest in a good amp.

Come on thats not a real strat. It has a humbucker. Ya i know they make em with HBs. Strat wins. More greats used them than SGs. Jimi Hendrix, SRV, EVH, David Gilmour, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck. Should i go on?

@journeyquest1 If you knew anything you'd know that Hendrix, Clapton and Beck all used SGs at different points, especially in the studio.

And since you're talking about not being a "real strat" then you can't include EVH's bastard child of a guitar.

@bossfrog Probably on more rare occasions. Even the great James page used an SG once and a while. My preference is a Fender Jag with nice Bursrbucker PUPs. Comfortable guitar with good sound.

try to play better songs, its like you dont even try to play a song,,, just play a clear song like some of metallica or ac/dc, then i can decide better, my friends has a stratocaster ive got an epiphone SG, i say its all about how you play,, the strings and the amp,, and ofcourse the pickups, and if you thinking of a gibson or epiphone,, just go for epiphone,, with gibson you only pay for the name...

a lot of people say that but from personal experience and trying out a £600 epiphone SG and then switching to a £1000 Gibson SG on the same setting and same amp and the difference is huge..

try not to believe when people say that you're only paying for the name cause the difference is more than i thought and i didnt think as bad as you.

number one thing to remember though - dont go on other peoples opions, try things for yourself. dont even go on my opinion

First off you are comparing a FENDER to an EPIPHONE.

Try Fender vs Gibson SG.

Second off, both your guitars are not even made in the USA which automatically degrades their quality. Especially the epiphone made in china, rofl.
