The recoil cones from 800 rounds a min with the long barrel and 756 or so with the short barrel. With that many rounds being fired that fast it has a little kick. Try firing it from the hip it takes a little practice and 5-8 round burst.

5.56 and .223 are the same dimensions but the 5.56 produces more pressure due to it being loaded hotter for military purposes. The chamber in a 5.56 is spec'd differently allowing for the pressure spike while the standard .223 chamber is tighter and shorter. That's the difference.

A 60 is actually fun to shoot, just a little uncontrollable while standing. Bear in mind a unloaded M60 also weighs 23lbs, vs a SAW at 16lbs. That weight does help tame the recoil a bit. Try an M107 or

M82A1, and I think you'll rather shoot the

M60 instead.

I'd beg to differ. 5.56mm and .223 cal are the same rounds. Either will chamber in the other. A .38cal round has a shorter case by far than a .357. Much less powder and most bullet weights will be a lot lighter. You CAN fire a .38 out of a revolver chambered for .357. you CANNOT fire a .357 cartridge out of a gun chambered only for .38 cal. You risk injury or death if you do.
