You have to tell your friends our birds need to be in a tropical jungle not in a so cold country and in a cage like that!!! Yes. This parrots cage is quite small and I don't see any toys. Don't like that the cage is round and although funny and amusing, he seems frustrated and wanting out.

Your bird needs a bigger SQUARE cage! Please give him some wooden chew toys, these are important for a birds' health! He/she is talking so much inside the cage (you said it acts crazy only inside the cage) because it wants you to take it out, it wants hands-on attention.

The bird sounds evil. Why are you shining a light in his eyes? The cage is too small and it sounds like you are tormenting it. I hope you are giving it time to stretch its wings during the day. i hope you are spending time with it and not just talking to it through a cage. birds bite when you do that. i hope the best for the bird.

I have a green cheeked amazon parrot. the round cage is not suitable for any type of bird. it can drive them NUTS. The bird does look healthy so I know you take care of it. But, if you think I am incorrect please read the book "Birds for Dummies" which is written by my personal certified avian vet, Doctor Brian Speer. If you need assistance in finding a reasonably priced cage send me a message...

Yep it's TRUE a round cage can drive a parrot nuts. I am also a parrot owner for 11 years- a cockatoo-amazon and an African Grey

I agree. Round cages afford no corners for a bird to hide in and therefore make the parrot, a prey animal in nature, feel extremely exposed and vulnerable. Please consider purchasing a nice, big, stainless steel, four cornered cage for you friend. A few toys for entertainment and variably shaped perches to prevent pressure sores on the feet would also be nice.

He is a yellow-fronted amazon (Amazona ochrocephala) otherwise known as the yellow-crowned amazon. I really wish you did your research before adopting high maintenance parrot such as an amazon. Please read up, for your and your bird's sake!

This poor bird is sentenced to this rotten life because he's from a 3rd world country.We lived in Panama for a few years.The people are afraid of them because they get bitten alot on account of the way they treat them and the way they tease them. They don't give them toys because " they will only destroy them". They yell "corre, corre" at them, which is run, run in spanish. They feed them coffee soaked in bread...the people need to be educated...but it's not likely. So sad.
