Oddly enough I watched this game alone. I didn't want to be with anyone, to be distracted for even one second. I was 2 feet from my T.V in my basement the whole game biting my fingernails off and when Crosby scored that goal, I jumped so high I punched 2 holes in my ceiling. I haven't patched them!!! Everytime I look at the holes I remember that goal, that moment and why I love this country!!

I was a bartender for a very popular sports bar in Vancouver during the Olympics. I love doing it because I love how middle aged men are so boasty about their favorite hockey team.
When that moment happened, the red and white men in the bar went NUTS! and so did I im not gonna lie. The streets were crazy, the stadium was absolute chaos, and it was just a real moment in your life to be proud of who you are. I am in Germany now, and looking at this, I AM SO HOMESICK! :(

So he is technically allowed to play for team Canada, however he is no longer eligible to play for the German team.

Crosby didn't have to play in the Olympics. He could have just said 'fuck it' and gone home and did things for himself but instead he decided to help Canada at the Olympics. He gave every ounce of energy he had and scored the golden goal, yet many Canadians put him down? Oddly enough I watched this game alone. I didn't want to be with anyone, to be distracted for even one second. I was 2 feet from my T.V in my basement the whole game biting my fingernails off and when Crosby scored that goal, I jumped so high I punched 2 holes in my ceiling. I haven't patched them!!! Everytime I look at the holes I remember that goal, that moment and why I love this country!!

I was a bartender for a very popular sports bar in Vancouver during the Olympics. I love doing it because I love how middle aged men are so boasty about their favorite hockey team.
When that moment happened, the red and white men in the bar went NUTS! and so did I im not gonna lie. The streets were crazy, the stadium was absolute chaos, and it was just a real moment in your life to be proud of who you are. I am in Germany now, and looking at this, I AM SO HOMESICK! :(

@SpencerBetzvog Whoa dude, let's get some facts right. Here in Canada you can have dual citizenship, we don't discourage multiculturalism and multi-nationalism. Similar things happen in the States, but your forced to choose between citizenships. Dany Heatley has both Canadian and German citizenship, as his father is was born Canadian (in Calgary) and mother is born in Germany. So he is technically allowed to play for team Canada, however he is no longer eligible to play for the German team.
