His dad (kind, nice, but a deadbeat because he wasted time writing the Maiyan Oracle with Ideal and Sudo) died in the clock tower to stop the prophecy from coming true, and then the evil, the "Crawling Chaos" replicated him and enacted the rumors becoming reality curse, convincing Jun to become his sword and initiate the Masquerade.
His mother died as the Green Empress in this timeline, sacrificing her life to protect Jun, as her last act.
True, but no man is without his shadow, aside from becoming the "cool" dad Jun wanted, Nyarlathotep could become him flawlessly because Jun's dad- as with every human- had dark thoughts that he kept to himself. Those thoughts fed Nyarlathotep. In essence, the Crawling Chaos is more of Kashihara then just his form.

Everyone's awful childhoods reminds me of Fruits Basket... I for one had my childhood as the best part of my life, and yet even though there were some messed up memories to like these stories...

Forget Jun's mother! What about being stuck with an Outer God pretending to be your father for the past ten years?
No wonder Jun's got more problems then a lifetime of therapy would sort out.
