  • 5:46 My favourite gag

  • Yeah, he's who I could turn into if I don't remember that I'm customer first and a salesman second, to use management speak.

  • It is weird that you say you think you could turn into him as this thought has crossed my mind too. I am glad he is resonating with more then just me.

  • Yes well it's like he's the David Brent of radio, you may aspire to that power but you don't aspire to being that person.

I must say I like how the style is similar to bbc three's mouth to mouth.

  • The David Brent of radio I like that although I think Jeremy has got a bit more self awareness.

I have not seen Mouth to Mouth but I do like this style as it works very well for ad-libbing which is something I often indulge in.

  • Ah ad-libbing, not good. If you really work at and craft a script so that the puns and suggestions are all there then any ad-libs are extraneous, unnecessary and rather annoying.

Also with Mouth to Mouth everything is clearly plotted as to what is said and not said so whilst exact phrases may not be needed nothing can really afford to be lost.

  • I agree that a script should be crafted well but at the same time a certain amount of ad-libbing does give that something extra to a performance. All scripts are ad-libed by the writers all I am doing is carrying on the writing process on the day. Sometimes it is not intill you are in character and on set intill you think of the punch line you couldnt think of when writing. Most of this is scripted. All of it retro-scripted some of it ad-libed but with in a framework.
