@freeridin4ever a yz 250 as a lighter feeling than your crf250r however they are really close to the same weight. the yz250 frame is actually one of the best frame in my opinion.

@KierenMasters lol if you crave power you wont be on a 250f lol 250 2 strokes fuckin hose 250f's. with the right power valve set up it'll hang with any stock 450 no prob. 4 strokes are good to though. if i wanted a consistently predictable bike to race id still have my 06 rmz 450. youve probably never had the joy of a smoker between your legs
@ben1996ful id say a 125 cause i had a 144 and an older 2002 yz250 before i got this and it was still a pretty powerful for me and my buddy just came off a crf 230 to a 2001 yz125 and he loves it. i still think the small bores are more fun than the 250s and stuff but its up to you in the end
@ben1996ful Don't even waste your time on a 125, believe me, 250's are so much better, 125's half the time you gotta use the clutch just to get up hills and you always gotta give it the gas to keep it running and if you don't keep it rev'd, you'll foul the plugs super easy.
Call me a pussy, but i wish they made something between a 125 and 250, im really quick on my125 then i get on my uncles yz250 and im no where near as fast, those things have got a lot of power, spose just have to stick with the 125 a bit longer

LOL my cousin was on this dirt bike and I was a 4 stroke fanboy back then and when was on it he did the clutch barely and he gave it barely any gas at all and he did a wheelie for 10 seconds and he let of the gas and he could not get it down! He was expecting it to be as powerful as his 450 4 stroke atv and his heart was beating so hard lol. He says he wants a 2 stroke now lol
oh really eh?, 2 strokes are cheaper, lighter, produce better power to weight and power to cc, faster, easier to maintain and above all, much more fun. 2 strokes are a crapload more reliable than a 4 stroke cause theres virtually nothing to go wrong, people rebuild them every month when they race them, but then again 250F's get rebuilt after every race and not every 4th, also mixing premix definetely outweighs adjusting valvles, timing chains and changing oil filters

i dont get how you rev the shit out of these bikes and are able to keep it in that perfect powerband spot. i rev mine so much to a point where it doesnt even go anymore and its like almost losing power

@TheHondarider24 i screwed up my hand in gym class on friday and on saturday i went to high voltage mx and my hand was killin me i think my tendons were swollen or something so i didnt go.
Nice bike man. I had a brand new 2003 YZ250 back in 2004. Bought it as a leftover and got a great deal. What a bike. Eventually sold it though, just didnt use it all that much, but when I did use it, I smiled from ear to ear lol.
@Leebull3 all depends on how u ride and your preference.id say if ur a first timer buy a 125 because there are some things u learn on 2strokes(especially a 125) u just cant learn on 4strokes and the good thing is theyre relatively cheap on the market. i just cant reccomend a 4stroke to anyone after the problems i had with my old 250f. prices on parts also become huge factors
@Leebull3 dude get a 2 stroke the things haul ass, they are light, they handle incredible, they are cheap, easy to work on, so fun to ride, have a tremendous powerband, etc.. i love them been racing them for 7 years

@PITBIKER98 still probably once or twice a year u should probably ask the yamaha dealer but if they start trying to make u get a 4stroke or something i wouldn't trust them.
@PITBIKER98 what i do, is every 2 and a half months i put in a new ring, every other ring new piston. just to keep it fresh sence i race everyweekend but if u keep doing this along with regular maintanince (change oil, fork oil, tires, chains, etc.) u will NEVER have to rebuild this bike.. unless u rev it a lot when its cold. cuz tht really kills it.
@PITBIKER98 well i change the ring at least every 2.5 months, and a new piston every other ring change, and change motor oil every 3 rides. and u can go a long time on the same fork oil without replacing it but u would have to inspect ur seals too. ( u can tell when ur seals are bad when u see lines on shiney park of the fork, their lines going across it like this ___ )

@TheHondarider24 i screwed up my hand in gym class on friday and on saturday i went to high voltage mx and my hand was killin me i think my tendons were swollen or something so i didnt go.

Nice bike man. I had a brand new 2003 YZ250 back in 2004. Bought it as a leftover and got a great deal. What a bike. Eventually sold it though, just didnt use it all that much, but when I did use it, I smiled from ear to ear lol.

@Leebull3 all depends on how u ride and your preference.id say if ur a first timer buy a 125 because there are some things u learn on 2strokes(especially a 125) u just cant learn on 4strokes and the good thing is theyre relatively cheap on the market. i just cant reccomend a 4stroke to anyone after the problems i had with my old 250f. prices on parts also become huge factors

@Leebull3 dude get a 2 stroke the things haul ass, they are light, they handle incredible, they are cheap, easy to work on, so fun to ride, have a tremendous powerband, etc.. i love them been racing them for 7 years

@23YZ250f yea i kno its like finding a needle in a hay stack. I got one of two that where in pennsylvania at the time and i only got it because my grandpa was friends with the owner so the owner put it on hold for me because i guess he was getting so many calls about the bike.

@MrDartmart not in pennsylvania but i really cant tell the difference between the 250f riders and the 450 riders they both seem just as fast just a little different engine noise.

@yz250fr4 Ok lets say i race every sat. and sun. maybe about 5-6 hours then when will i need to rebuild it? every month? i heard 4 stroke will last longer till it will need a rebuild

@PITBIKER98 still probably once or twice a year u should probably ask the yamaha dealer but if they start trying to make u get a 4stroke or something i wouldn't trust them.

@PITBIKER98 what i do, is every 2 and a half months i put in a new ring, every other ring new piston. just to keep it fresh sence i race everyweekend but if u keep doing this along with regular maintanince (change oil, fork oil, tires, chains, etc.) u will NEVER have to rebuild this bike.. unless u rev it a lot when its cold. cuz tht really kills it.

@PITBIKER98 well i change the ring at least every 2.5 months, and a new piston every other ring change, and change motor oil every 3 rides. and u can go a long time on the same fork oil without replacing it but u would have to inspect ur seals too. ( u can tell when ur seals are bad when u see lines on shiney park of the fork, their lines going across it like this ___ )
