  • "Even if you can´t A MINOR" LOL

  • ur epic at guitar u shood go on britians got talent

  • what about the solo :(

  • I think the last chord [of the verse] is played on the first beat of the bar. It's not syncopated like the other chords. But other than that, great lesson, thank you!

  • thumbs up if you think when he sings he sounds like a younger herbert the pervert

    from family guy

  • This is the best instructional video I've seen for this song. Thank you very much. Your explanation involving eighth notes was especially helpful. 12345, then 678, then 1, 2345678. Helped me a lot.

  • yeah slow down broo :P

  • you are a bit fast

  • Excellent lesson again! Thanks for taking the time to put these tutorials on you are a very good teacher! Kind regards from Scotland!

  • Nevermind. lol It looked like the chorus was C,G,am,C, but the last chord was really an F. lol

  • I thought the last chord of the chorus was an F. I think I like it better using the C chord instead though.

  • Great vid. Thank you

  • Hi, Justin !

Thank you very much for this great guitar lesson. The song sounds very specially because of the small change of the chords.

    Many Greets from Germany !

  • Thank you very much for this lesson, i'm new to guitar and this is great to help with timing etcetera, great work.

  • nice one mate

  • Great thks

  • justin the pirate yaarrrrr

  • @SweetlySammie Wow, what age are you?

  • ta mate

  • Yaay~, thank you soo much, i was looking for good "run" chords so long! :P You're a great teacher :D (is it correct? >.< I'm Polish xD)

  • Lol Thanks, I'm sooo playing this for my fiance ^__^ I find it hilarious how in the bridge you were singing and saying the chords at the same time "LIght up, light, as if you "G" the chord"??? Even if you cannot A minor my voice, I'll be right beside you F chord. THANKS!

  • woow this is great! and great voice ;p

    It's a really good lesson, I totally understand it;p

    thanks

  • its such a stretch =O =P

  • i'm beginner but you make it easy :D keep doing this,

Can i ask something?? do you have any tips for playing the strings? justing using your thumb right?

  • @yoyorickboy17 He plays em with a plecter. If you are askin how to hold the E-string down with ur thumb. Stretch it so far you ca hold it with your thumb backside :)

  • @TheZnorro i using also a plecter/plectrum/pick (what you want). i learned already strumming, but do you have tricks for up-strumming? that isn't quit working when i do it :)

  • Great Video.

In the verse i can't play the F/Gsus4, i really can't do it:( it makes a completely different sound to Justin's, any help? is their an alternative?

  • @dandehdan09 increase the pressure your applying on the strings, and make sure your guitars tuned, only 2 solutions :)

  • that´s really great

    thank you dude =)

    greetz from germany

  • you're the man!

  • Ty so much justin...been wantin to learn this song for a while now but i thought it was too hard........much appreciated

  • Justin, are there any chord alternatives that don't sound too bad that can be played to avoid the stretch pain? Thanks!!

  • i think these chords sound roughly the same:

    Verse: Am, Fmaj7/A, Gsus4

    Chorus: C, G, Am

it doesnt sound quite as good but its a hell of a lot easier and less painful

    hope it helps

  • sorry - Chorus: C, G, Am, F

  • practice makes perfect, so the more your stretch the better you get at it and so your playing skills improve and that's always a good thing, right?

  • Thanks again Justin....the chord stretch is killer on my hands...they just plain are in pain!!

  • the "buzz"...the 0 note on d 5th string is gettin muted!! how to get rid of it????/

  • excellent, many thnx

  • thats a really good lesson, and i now can play it :D .. yet.. on the F sus chord. i sumtimess get a buz sound ? hmm ???

  • nice thingy on yo head..i like it...COOL!!

  • edit:happen to be

  • does this happen to a half step down too? (still training my ears)

  • Excellent Thanks !

  • you can also try 5 3 2 5 x x for the Aminor chord

  • Isn't that last chord in the verse you are playing a G sus 4 rather thanan F sus 4.

Just pointing it out and not trying to say anything bad about this vid

  • Excellent lesson thanks

  • the emotional feeling get lost beacause its a bit tooo fast. But except this its great

  • It depends. Is you guitar electric or acoustic. And if electric, what type is it?

I think your talking about adjusting the bridge height?

  • I know you're sick of song requests -- couldn't get your forum to work right -- but I feel I've got the ultimate song for you to cover: the soulful "The Wind" by Cat Stevens (saw where you like Cat). Apologies ... for my being another dullard. And, again, you do great work as a teacher.

  • Oh yeah, I forgot. Initially, I searched your site and various channels just knowing instinctively (wrongly, I might add) that you'd have a video lesson and TAB for "The Wind."

  • A truly valuable free web service. Thank you, Justin. The world needs more people like you -- talented, fun teachers.

  • Thanks Justin!

  • Great song.. i love snow patrol.. simple chords and no barres chords

  • More open tuning songs. Please!!!!!!!!

  • Dude,

Have only just "discovered" you and am really excited as you have given me back my confidence and desire to play again.

Have been trying to learn for 3 years with not much luck!!

Not sure if you have posted any Waifs or Xavier Rudd, but would really love to learn Green Spandex and Fishermans Daughter/Bridal Train.

Keep up the good work and once again thanks a lot.

    Stu from Stranocum, Northern Ireland.

  • It was because of you that now I know this song. I was looking for songs in your website and I found one of snow patrol (this one) and as I'm a huge fan of snow patrol I listened the song and I loved!

And now I can play it too!!!!

    Thanks!!! :D
