@Azishome: Sorry, I did this back in 1963. Didn't save the tape. Maybe, sometime, I'll put the whole narration up here and you can get somebody, maybe yourself, to do it, substituting, perhaps, what suits your area and sentiments. Dave F. P.S. - The program director/manager is no longer on the green side of the grass.
@Myrtle791 Glad to hear from you. You did a good thing for your listeners letting them hear Trumpeter's Lullaby. Just like when a local D.J. here in Phoenix did around July or August one year playing Christmas Carols when it was about 112 degrees or so. That one segment of the show brought smiles and happiness to a lot of people. Sometimes the best things that happen on radio is the commitment of the on-air talent.
Prefer the version by Leroy, himself. Played this at sign-off, along with the narration: "Day is done and your good neighbor on the air, WSBB, completes another day's programming for the New Smyrna Beach area (FL). Etc., etc." We first did this "dry." I came across "Trumpeter's Lullaby" one night, realizing it'd go well with the sign-off I put'em together. A perfect fit. Last word came just before the last trumpet note. My artistic touch was gone when I was. (Sigh!) ( /-: )
