  • ok VERY cool

  • Packers blow

  • Coke sucks. Pepsi rules. I'll put flowers on Uncle Bill's grave . . . if I ever find it. I'll go there every day . . . well, not EVERY day.

  • @OHLeeRedux lol

  • Burger King retired the King. They would be smart to use this clip with Mark for a commercial. Flame Broiled. Good as hell. Very Cool.

  • why is he so much against Pepsi?

  • Mark and Mike are such nice guys. Wish there were more people like this today.

  • Classic scene but it's not in the damn movie, but that's what happens man.

  • @JBHutto

Hahaha. Thanks, that made my day.

  • wait, what about a dingus?

  • He's into Coke!

  • Flame broiled for the win. They should of left this scene in.

    Love Mark's philosophy.

  • one of my favorite scenes, can't believe it was deleted

  • American Movie is the best movie ever made, jesus

  • It's grate dat dings wurk out somedimes like dat

  • I wish Mark was my boyfriend, he's so smart

  • Mark Rocks!!!

  • I love him. He's pure positive energy.

  • I can't believe this is an actual documentary, Mark seems like such a character from a movie or something

  • just seems like a regular dude

  • Does ANYbody prefer Pepsi? Everywhere I go people are pissed that whatever restaurant we are in serves Pepsi instead of Coke. EVERYbody is pissed when they hear that! The next choice then is Dr. Pepper. If they don't have that, then okay, MAYbe I'll take Pepsi. Most likely I'll order iced-tea at that point.

  • @FasterThanYou321 the only reason i get happy about pepsi products is because i like Mountain Dew....but only because it reminds me of Surge! so i guess i'm a Coke fan at heart...

  • @CyanideStudios ---- Yes, okay, Mountain Dew is very good. I agree. But I'm talking specifically about Pepsi versus Coke. I don't know ANYbody who would choose Pepsi over Coke straight up.

  • @FasterThanYou321 honestly, when i was younger i liked Pepsi better than Coke..but i think it's because it's so much sweeter. as i got older, my wisdom came with age and i'm back to Coke. nothing better than a Coke with a burger and fries.

  • @CyanideStudios Yes there is. An ice cold Coca Cola and a hot pepperoni roll.

  • @teadough703 oooo damn i'll have to experience that...

  • @FasterThanYou321 I would choose Pepsi over Coke.

  • Surge was the shit back in the day. Still looking for some place that sells it.

  • @mwells219 Yeah, you can find it in Norway. It's called Urge. Vault is basically the same thing, though.

  • char broiled.

  • Dude, this video almost made me wet myself lol, i love how Mark can me so passionate about the smallest things.

  • Ah Man..... Now I want a whopper...and a Coke.

    But none of that Pepsi

  • The best movie ever. Part 2? I'd watch it.

  • Perfect ad material for Coke/BK right here.

  • Im so hungry now.

  • "So I mean it's great that things work out sometimes like that."

  • Best Documentary EVER made! Can't get enough of it!

  • I always find this scene kind of sad. The whole movie he is struggling to make his film and struggling even more in his real life and when he says "its great that things work out like that sometimes" over something as small as Burger King having Coke now just makes his situation seem so hopeless. But I guess you could look at it as that Mark is always thinking postie

  • i can never find this at a video store or online, such a bummer cos it looks hilarious :(

  • I think they left this out because the film makers thought it was too much free advertising for Burger King And Coke. If those companies were willing to pay for this, then maybe it could stay, but if I were making a movie I wouldn't want a 55 second free commercial in the middle of it.

  • @stubee5150 Good answer. I see your point!

  • This is HANDS DOWN my favorite documentary.

  • I went to Burger King today because of this.

  • This guy could talk about anything and make it amusing and slightly insightful.

Wish I could agree with him though, all of the Burger King's where I live suck something hard lately.

  • he is the reincarnation of JESUS!

  • hahahahaha....this should've been in the video

  • this scene was in a film, in one of the films I guess there must be more than one version if people are saying it was left out !

  • things really do work out like that ...

awesome movie... why did they leave this out?!

    wisco proud!

  • I'd love to hang out with Mark, just listen to his observations of the world, they're both hilarious and often very valid... such a great guy.

  • Lol, this movie was so good. But man, that's how I feel man, BK's fucking awesome.

  • One of my favorite movies of all time! :D

  • " Aww that's cool" It's like he just says anything that comes into his mind. Amazing creature.

  • Mark seems like a really genuine person. Hope he can finish northwestern someday.

  • its on netflix watch instantly

  • oh thats cool lol

  • awesome scene

  • A true Milwaukee boy...

  • Im tryin gto find a place online that streams it, no luck though.

  • @redheadhistorian try downloading it from a bit torrent...i suggest using vuze. pretty simple to use, even for noobs.

  • This movie kicks ass. If you haven't seen it. Rent it for 50 cents at family dollar and roll a joint, and your set

  • You can rent movies at Family Dollar?

  • I giggled when I read this

  • @platinumdickdomain

  • oh thats cool

  • het your burgers from burger king and a drink from some where else

  • This guy seems rad.

  • Very cool.

  • Great movie

  • Awesome.

  • Burger King should use this for a commercial.

  • I THOUGHT burger king used to sell pepsi - but then i thought it was just my imagination! Thanks 4 clearing that up.

  • this IS HIM.. he is sooo hot! i want to make out with him for hours, then run out to grab a whopper and coke!!! ON ME!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • This guy is playing everyone... this is all the most brilliant character ever made.

  • I don't think he was playing a character - this was him.

  • Coke and Pabst Blue Ribbon how can you argue with those two liquids?

We need an American Movie II, Mark and Mike go to Washington DC to try and get some stimulus money from the National Endowment for the Arts to fund "Northwestern".

  • Pabst Blue Ribbon is shit

  • "oh, that's cool. I'll put that right there" lol.

    Fucking Awesome Movie!!

  • Very cool.

  • genius

  • so true. why bother with pepsi. coke is the way to go.

  • yeah, fuck that

  • It's great that things work out sometimes like that!

  • "very cool" as he gets the change, ha ha ha

  • I just wanna drink beer and party with that guy haha!

  • Why the f*** was this scene deleted? This could be the premise for another Mark Borchardt spectacular documentary.

He's the modern Socrates, or something. I don't know.

  • @MarthaMartian There should be someone whose job is just to follow Mark around and capture everything he says for the ages.

  • @DejectedPanda Yes. You got it.

  • @MarthaMartian truly, you cannot script such comic genius. he is gold.

  • @MarthaMartian You're right, dude.

  • Now you can go to Burger King, get a Whopper and get the god damn Coke and you're set.

  • wild.. i met this guy in Erie PA a few years back.

  • oh that's cool!

    i love this guy.

simple people are the only kind :D

  • Holy shit i saw this doc years ago and on a whim searched for it, this is the first vid I've seen in a while, hilarious! Now I remember why I liked the doc so much!

  • this is my most favorite scene from the american movie dvd. its a shame it didnt' make the cut of the film.

  • If Burger King and Coke was the highlight, then you missed the context of the movie.

  • I could seriously eat a whopper right now.

  • So you'd never go to Taco Bell, right. This made me want to go to BK..."flame broiled"!

  • "You have something to live for. Jesus told me so!" BEST MOVIE EVER!!!

  • Or his line from 'Coven'...."God helps those who help themselves."

  • pepsi, fuck that!

  • I met Borchardt the other day at the Pick N Save, he was with ken keene, hadnt changed a bit

  • How's he earning a living? Is he making movies, or at least trying?

  • You bag on the guy but I bet you couldn't even begin to understand what goes into making a film. Guys like Mark are cool, guys like you are assholes

  • You should buy the movie. Hey, even cheaper than Rush tickets!

  • A great movie about reality and dreams... Does anybody know how Mark and Mike are doing now? To anybody who knows, and answers, thanks....

  • Last spring I had the pleasure of working on Jon Springer's The Hagstone Demon with Mark here in Minneapolis. It was a great shoot, and will be an awesome film. I look forward to working with Mr. Borchardt again. I posted a few behind the scenes clips from Hagstone on my page. Check them out.

    -Mike Etoll

  • Thanks, Mike! Been wondering for the longest time what happened to these guys, hope they're still clean and sober, LOL! Can't wait for the film to come out, congratulations on being part of the project.

  • I'm not sure about Mike...I think he is still sober and Mark is working on a film called "Scare Me". It supposed to come out in 2008. Google Mark and look on wikipedia for more information.

    -Jay Bechtel-

  • Thanks for the info, Jay!

  • I live in the u.K and hardly anyone has even heard of this film It's an absolute masterpiece. They showed it on T.V a while back at 1 am.

  • This was my favorite scene. I was trying to tell my friends about it, but I didn't do it justice. Thanks so much for posting this!!!!

  • God, how I love this movie!

  • i saw this movie for the first time a little over 6 years ago. i fell in love with it right then and there. but i've never seen this deleted scene. rad!

  • hard to find? I got mine at target for 9.99.

  • Where the hell do you live? When did you buy it? I'm from PA and I was looking for it about a year ago and it was fuckin impossible.

  • It was in Dallas, TX about a year and a half ago. I hadn't heard of the movie and bought it on a whim. Now, of course, it's my favorite film. Go figure. Can't believe Target of all places would have had it.

  • Yeah, damn dude you're lucky. I rented it on a whim and then loved it but couldn't find it in stores.

  • It's almost like he's too good to be true. His kindness and attention to the little things make up for his lack of a traditional education.

  • One of the best documentaries ever. No question.

  • This is magic...my wife wont let me watch movies like this. Which is why I like vodka and stuff...classic movie...

  • Lmao, I saw this movie in my television productions class, a week later, Family Guy made a joke about it.

  • funny

  • From the most brilliant documentary I've ever seen.
