One thing that everyone appears to be overlook here is the bigger picture; from order create chaos so that a new order can then be created. Old South Africa was safer and more controlled under white rule, and it was developing properly. Blacks and whites had work and food on the table. The only down side was apartheid, where black people werent completely free. But it was a much better South Africa with very very few complaints about government, jobs or security.

The Afrikaaners came to the land with nutritional, medicinal, sanitational, educational and shelter standards worse than any that exist in S.A. today (except perhaps educational). Still, they were leagues ahead of the native population in these areas. Today both have improved tremendously but the distance between them, though closed and overtaken in some places, remains.

@tsteph217 You ignore many things. White people (and indeed, people of all races) enslaved each other. Black people enslaved each other. No race is innocent of these things and no race has escaped falling victim to slavery. Slavery was never legal in S.A. as it was in the U.S.
There I was merely saying that (in exceptional cases) some blacks were killed by whites just as the reverse has happened many times. In fact the revese is now infinitely more common.

I have been a victim of racial hate. in 2004 I was shot through the right lung in my own house in the middle of the night. both my parents were shot and my father and brother were terribly beaten. My grandfather was a journalist who supported Mandela and attended every meeting at the house in Rivonia with him. One thing that everyone appears to be overlook here is the bigger picture; from order create chaos so that a new order can then be created. I believe South Africans are almost ready to accept a new order. Its a world wide phenomena taking place, and White South Africans are just pawns in a deceptive game.

Old South Africa was safer and more controlled under white rule, and it was developing properly. Blacks and whites had work and food on the table. The only down side was apartheid, where black people werent completely free. But it was a much better South Africa with very very few complaints about government, jobs or security.

@saguitarist I think people often forget exactly what Apartheid was, as well as it's precise definition and application. The exact definition translates literally as, "apart-ness", and that is how it was practiced.
The entire country was split into zones, wherein most of the larger ethnic groups were given territories over which they were nearly completely autonomous. The allegations of racism are almost entirely based on the fact that whites built their own cities and did not share.

@saguitarist The only thing Apartheid really proves, beyond a doubt, is that the sub-Saharan African mentality has not changed with regards to it's sense of entitlement to things they had no part in creating. If examples move you, consider New Orleans, USA. The blacks there were overwhelmingly living on government aid, yet when disaster strikes they feel that they are entitled to extra compensations simply by virtue of their existence and not their societal value.
It's no different in SA.
