Ow. Damn, I feel for her. She's definitely ill, because it is HARD to sing with power while sick. You can tell she is trying desperately to sing with her diaphragm, but nothing comes out. Roy Khan had the same thing happen at Wacken '08 - just got so sick that the entire concert (which was being recorded) was forgotten. He even got so nervous, he forgot the lyrics.

Thankfully both bands worked hard to help their ill members.

I love epica but I hear a lot of their performances are horrible. Cant say since I havent seen them live but maybe some of the songs are harder for her to sing live??? Just a suggestion, maybe they should take it easy and balance it out with the setlist?

She already got an in ear monitor. But she was pretty ill as you can hear in this song. But the overall Performance was still great for beeing ill.

I have no idea if she's ill or she can't hear herself through the monitors. At the unleashed video theres a bit where it looks like shes taking a pill, but at the quieter parts it seems like she's able to sing in tune while she can't in the louder bits, maybe she should get an in-ear monitor.

I think that it is also important to not compare her voice with the cd. There are more computers to perfect her voice for the cd then there are band members. Therefore i would have expected something more since i have heard her a couple of times live and there never seemd to be a problem with her voice.

Damn, so confused about Epica nowadays. I love love LOVE the theme in this album, but she never seem to connect too nor convey the message/feelings of the songs AT ALL! She's just... standing there while playing with her hair... It's so frustrating, 'cause it's such an awesome album with fantastic music. Hmm. :/

@linvik1 I know!!! it is kinda frustrating indeed, i mean all of them are so good playing live, but simone has actually changed a lot, i think that her physical appearance is more a priority for her than her whole stage presence, you know the voice, the attitude, etc.....but i still love them!

@andrudra I get that feeling too. But yep they're definitely very good live, and their music has always been and is as awesome as ever (especially with DYU -> that was the album I meant in my previous post), they're still one of my favourite bands 'cause they make great music.

We'll see how the whole thing develops, I hardly see/feel any genuine artistic talent in her anymore though...

Second of all a lot of women when sick nervous or upset twirl and touch hair, I do in my poetry readings especially if my throat hurts I hate the feeling I am going to mess up. Well I love Epica,they are my favourite band but in this show and specially in Cry For The Moon,Simone's voice sounds really bad.I don't know if she was sick or what but she didn't sound as well as usual.And I can notice that she wasn't forcing her voice at all.Her voice didn't sound operatic at all,specially in this song.Maybe if she wasn't sick,she just had a bad day.Anyway,as I said before I love them and when I saw them here in Argentina,last April, Simone's voice DID SOUND perfect.
