now lets say I have 2 monitors and put a window on the second monitor. Then I turn off the computer and dis-connect the 2nd monitor. That window is now trapped over there. How do I get the window back? (and I no longer have access to two monitors)
If you disconnect the second monitor while you have things on it, all of those things and desktop icons will be moved over to the remaining monitor(s). If you have two monitors with icons on both, you shut down the computer and remove a monitor, all icons will automatically be moved to the remaining monitor when you restart.
@WindowsAndMacintosh I got it to work. yay! But the odd thing was, under the System Preferences window -> Displays, there wasn't a "Detect Displays" option. Interesting. Thank you for trying to help. Greatly appreciated :)
I didn't think some people were so stupid as to think that the computer's speed is what allows the second display to operate... The GPU and a lot of other things go into it...
