I SAW YOU LAST YEAR AT OTAKON! haha. Great job on this! I'm looking for some costume head tutorials for my cosplay for the 2012 Otakon right now and came across yours.
You might want to shorten the front of the legs juuust a little so its more wolflike and less costumey- but that's just me. I don't mean any disrespect o: I love your costume!
When it comes to constuctive critadoodle (spelling, why do you fail meeeeee)
The muzzle needs slimming down and you need more body padding (especially on the legs, otherwise you just look like someone walking with armstilts instead of an animal) . The ears need to point a lil better because they look like mouse ears.
But if your adorable doggie needed to double check ("*sniffsniff*") that it was you, you've got the basics down XD
im really wanting to make an okami cosplay for A.E this summer but i have no clue what it will cost me or how to make the wolf stance costume (like yours) i would help soo much if you told me what your budget was and how long it took to do this <3
i love it!! uh do you mind telling me were you got the fur? because i want to make a quadsuit and im just drawing ideas right now for my 2011 first quad
I'm not saying it's a bad costume, but there are things you can do better next time. When you're making an Okami costume you should take a close look at some wolf pictures. The eyes aren't just popped into the head, there is some black around them. You can use that to look through if you're making resin eyes, which isn't hard to do. And the ears could be smaller and the nose could be a bit slimmer. You can add some claws when you're done. It looks awsome so far!
@DeadLikeMe1234 Thanks for the imput! If you look on my page i have pictures of the final product. I slimmed down the head, made a new tail, and added okami's markings. I actually see under the head, below the bottom jaw, so sight wasn't a problem with the eyes. It's just something I didn't do well. I had originally made some claws. but i had problems with them falling off so I scraped that Idea.
It's looking great! But maybe add some more padding to the legs, or they look like wooden sticks. But other then that, I can't wait to see the finished project!
@BlitzXChizabelle I made the weapon out of an old pizza box, believe it or not. I cut two circles in the cardboard and put foam in the middle to make it 3D. Then I spraypainted it green and drew on the markings. To make the flames i used red, orange, and yellow fabric. I put the markings on by taking a marker, breaking it open, and mixing the liquid with water to thin it out. Then i just painted it on.
I will put a video up of it completed soon. I will be cosplaying at Otakon 2010. Will you?
Looks pretty good, can't wait to see it with the markings. I love the fur, what kind did you use? As far as noses go, I wound up using a piece of sculpty clay and making a basic canine nose with it...basically just a nose-shaped lump. I painted it black after it dried then glued it on. I will mention that it randomly fell off while just sitting at home but I reattached it and I haven't had any issues with it while in suit.

@goldryu I got my fur from Syfabrics. It's really soft and easy to sew. Thanks for the nose tip! I'll see if i can get my hands on some sculpty. :)
