Oh, and, good game. You should try for the MAME record. What controls are you using?

@aculturemind Thanks for that, but I fear the record (64,280 at MARP) would need skills an order of magnitude better than I could ever manage. I use the mouse to steer, with sensitivity at the lowest setting (Analog Controls->Dial Sensitivity=1). The keys don't really matter, but I use my normal choices for other games ie. A=Forward, Z=Back, CAPS=Gear.

I think the Twin Galaxies tournament settings may be harder.

@aculturemind I think with the TG settings (I'm not absolutely certain what they are) the other cars are slower, so you can overtake more, and score higher, so it's "easier". But in practice this means the game is harder to play competitively.

I use an arcade-type spinner (SlikStik, actually), which is fine for older MAME, but currently it's difficult to get good control. Perhaps because the original wheel was geared. (I have a PP cp; just haven't hooked it up...then I'd need at least a pot-type pedal...) TG settings = greater speed. You pass more cars, but everything happens faster. Comparing in current MAME, I don't know as it's harder; just a lot different.
