ha this post made me laugh. do you even know who schiff is? he was highly critical of Bush. Schiff actually does have a plan-he was the economic adviser to ron paul and his plan was to end the income tax, and stabilize the dollar. We actually haven't tried his way at all if you have been paying attention. The last 8 years Schiff has been highly critical of Bush's economic policies, including in 2006 where he said we were headed for a deep recession.

Freaking out about the same things. Also don't blame free market capitalism... there hasn't BEEN a free market in the u.s. since 1913....

You really have been asleep the last decade. Peter Schiff has been yelling that the end is coming at all the last presidents and has been ignored and laughed at by the media. But he was and is right.

And he HATED what Bush was doing to the economy and the world.  If the world HAD tried Schiff's recommendations, we would have a very healthy economy right now based on productivity and value - not debt.

That's why the comment that asset appreciation and CPI are very different. They are and the one doesn't lead into the other.

Also, if the other countries do not want the USA to have an advantage that a dollar decline would give them in terms of exports, and to negate this they themselves also print money, wouldn't all the currencies just keep their relative values?

In normal times inflation is created by to many dollars chasing too few goods. However now that almost everyone is a lot poorer, wouldn't printing money just establish us back to a status quo? For example, if I had $1 million in my IRA before the crash and now have $500,000 and if the government printed $500,000 and gave it to my IRA, I'd be just back up to where I was before the crash. I wouldn't be buying more goods, I wouldn't be pushing up prices as I would just be where I used to be?

the amero is a hypothetical currency that would be used in the event the USA, Canada and Mexico all decide to drop their respective currencies.

agreed, disputing the bonuses was not the point to deal with this situation. If you didn't want things like bonuses you should never have bailed out these organizations to begin with.

Mr Schiff, you have the means to hire the services of a skilled video and audio technician to set up your blog addresses for quality delivery.

Also try to calm down, and quieten down, so you're not haranguing an audience who is receptive to listening in the first place. It's counter-productive to shout at your audience, unless you want a Leni Riefenstahl at the Berlin Olympiad type production.
