  • Without a doubt, the greatest qawwals in the world! Qawwali is Bhakti.

  • Sublime. Aeons away from the packaged thrash sold as Sufi music today...

  • great work!!!

    aafareen sad aafrareen!!!

  • No, on the contrary, sufi philosophy of "love for Allah" as found in sufi writings like Mathnavi of Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi is EXACTLY like the bhakti of Gita Govinda. There is aboslutely no difference at all. As Rumi said :

"Lover's nationality is separate from all other religions,

The lover's religion and nationality is the Beloved (Allah).

The lovers cause is separate from all other causes

Love is the astrolabe of Allah's mysteries."

  • Sufi philosophy is very similar to Shankar's monism : seeking union with the Divine (God/ Allah).

Bhakti philosophy seeks a chance to serve the Divine (Krishna/God) beyond the zone of undifferentiated monism.

Gita Govind belongs to the realm of pure bhakti. Those who understand this difference really appreciate Gita Govind far far above any Sufi composition.

  • @akhandbha

You are wrong - Shankara (Adi Shankara?) considers devotion to a specific deity ultimately an impediment to ultimate realization. Devotion to a deity can only be a stepping stone, not a goal in itself.

You reduced Shankara's sophisticated and complex philosophy to a completely unwarranted correlation with a simplistic faith based religious concept.

  • @mlredr Krsna bhakti is the summary of all : the ultimate goal for all enlightened souls. Till that point, they struggle with ideas like Mayavad, Sufism etc.

  • kya gaiki hai yaar.... socho geet sunney mein itna acha lag raha hai to qaul kitna zabardast hoga jab 12 ney parha....

  • qawwali i have heard, but this is exceptional

  • This is matery over classical Qawwali. Munshi Raziuddin was one of the last masters of musical knowledge in Pakistan. His passage is deeply missed
