not to mention perry's guitar chops, the best line up, the best tour. I agree. In US, went to dean dome ,UNC then atlanta, I'm old and have seen every thing from hendrix, at 10 yrs old to Morrissey/marr, I was blown away by these shows.
Boris is really a drum god... too sad Robert hired jason...
you should probably watch the videos called "jason cooper cant stop playing the cymbals" or " jason cooper errors" look for them here in YouTube ... i believe you will enjoy them..
i remember beeing 15 or 16 years old ('95-'96)....listening to the wish album over and over again...and one day...this beautiful track got a GROWER! couldn't stop listening to it. now..more than 10 years later...this is still one of their most intense songs of all time. thank you the cure :)
One of the most intense songs of The Cure and a great example of the energy and musicianship of Boris Williams. His departure started The Cure's debacle...
yeah, it's really hard to find a better example of the cure in their prime. This stacks up against any rock performance. The Wish line up was them at their edgiest, their badass-est. "I'll play lead, you play lead, and you play feedback."
You're right- it sounds like he's having a seizure. Amazing that he can stand up at all much less still find the guitar strings. What a trooper to go on when he's obviously in such distress.
Fantastic video. I really think the Cure during the Wish era was definitely the best lineup they had. Boris was tearing it up on drums, Porl was a guitar hero, and Simon was just plain cool.
Although you all must admit that Perry's "keyboard playing" is pretty comical in this video, almost Spinal Tap'ish.
I was at that 'show', when it was filmed. Palace of Auburn Hills. The Cranes opened up for them, and I swear, the Cure played for like 4 1/2 hours or something that night. Unbelievable. Porl's playing on this song is like something out of a dream. Unreal. The best parts of Hendrix, meets Post-punk.
i LOVE it !!!!!! <33333
