@serchhhhhh Yeah, Blaze had sang out of his vocal range for a couple of months and his voice got strained and he failed to reach the high notes. Blame the band for not tuning down the songs to his bariton voice comfortable range.
Imagine this Blaze guy singing at any talent show, like American Idol or X-factor.The judges fired him immediately and told him to learn to sing.I could sing this song much better. It's a shame and Maiden have paid this guy for this shit.
What a fucking shit voice this is,can't even compare to Bruce Dickinson. This guy is not able to sing the higher tones, and this wouldn't only be the biggest problem, but he sings fucking falsely. This guy ruins this great song.I'm so glad that Bruce is back in Maiden
The X-factor could have been a brilliant album if they had hired an outside producer & tuned down to accomodate Blaze's voice....I feel sorry for Blaze the whole Maiden experience turned into a bit of a poisoned chalice....
Hey people don't blame Blaze, Blame whatever the hell accept him in the band. I believe they did castings, or didn't they? Anyway, The X-Factor and Virtual XI are amazing albums, but the guy simply can't sing Bruce's songs. They have songs that are masterpieces custom-made for each singer.
NOT EVEN CLOSE. Blaze did not belong in Maiden. There were so many others that could have stepped in. No offense to Blaze: he is okay, just not in Maiden. But, Janick? He is not even in the same ball park as Adrian. The funny thing is that when Bruce came out with Accident of Birth and Chemical Wedding with Adrian playing on both albums along with the great Roy Z, that music was way better than Maiden's then offerings. Even now, I wish they would dump Janick. They don't need him.
Say what you want about Blaze Bailey but he is an unbelivable singer and Maiden with him made an amazing album with X Factor witch is so underated has it is an awsome and powerful album with songs like Man of the Edge, Sign of the Cross, Lord of the Flies just an all around great album!
Give Blaze a chance ! Blaze' songs (X factor - Virtual XI - Virus) sound really great with his voice !. As Blaze can't sing Bruce' songs, Blaze' songs don't sound so good with Bruce's voice... Of course Bruce is much better: Amazing voice, great at stage, great personality... but Blaze has his own things. However: UP THE IRONS !
The problem is not really his voice. It's rather that his vocal range isn't as wide as Bruce', so therefore he isn't able to hit the highest notes in most of the Bruce era Iron Maiden songs.
I am grateful that blaze took Bruce's position, but the x-factor was made by Blaze himself, that's why his voice fits with his music. Blaze is better for singing his material, while Bruce has a greater voice range and can sing all of the material proposed from Iron Maiden.
blaze was better live than in the albums. i watch this video and i like him, i ve seen him live too back in 1995. everybody said that he did much better live.
Cliff Burton and Steve Harris are the best bassist I know. I don't know how he makes his bass sound so peaceful but it has that weird plucking noise at the same time.
I'm accord with you, harris is maiden in the true matter, but I mean on the Maiden's face, concerts, publics and all concerning things, cause bruce has a vibration on live that no other Maiden member (with all respect) has.
A lot of us don't dig Blaze...but put youselves in Steve's boots for a second...what would you do after Bruce left...not to mention Adrian!
Damn it,if he called me and asked if would join Maiden to sing their immortal anthems i'd be there in a second and i don't care if the whole world hates me ;-)
It's not that Blaze sucks, he has another style it's true, he's awesome singing his Maiden songs but this video proves that Blaze is unable to sing Bruce's Maiden songs
its because the band worked really hard to get the low voice of blaze, if bruce would sang in the x factor, the sound really change, but blaze is a really great singer but maiden without bruce is not maiden
@davesyourman bruce didnt think he was to good he just saw they were hitting a bad part in their carrer o mean no prayer for teh dying sucked fear od the dark was ok x factor sucked and there was only one good song of virtual XI so no he didnt think he was to good for the band
@davesyourman What the hell are you talking about? He has a carrer outside Iron Maiden. He wanted to pursue other things. And his bandmates, real friends, supported him!! If weren't so, Iron Maiden wouldn't be an excellent band until nowadays! They're still united, strong, and rocking the hell out in the shows, even with so many years together, and playing a very consistent Heavy Metal.
You don't need to talk this kind of shit to defend Blaze. He's awesome, just check his solo carrer out!!
I don't know why so many people hate Blaze. He sounds very different than Bruce, but not much worse, imo.
I mean, imagine Paul singing this song. He would totally screw it! Blaze adds something darker to it, which I like very much. Especially his variations during the verses.
Ah my favourite Murray solo. Sounds great here. Blaze tried hard on the Bruce stuff but he just wasn't up to it. Doesn't make him a bad singer he just never should've fronted Maiden. Look how much they've improved since Bruce returned.
i agree and disagree. ive seen him do shit on this song, not in this vid tough. you gotta remember though, just because blaze joined maiden doesnt mean he has to sound exactly like the original recording.
