I saw and photographed the second night of this tour after opening in Vancouver BC, my friends and I drove up to Seattle from Portland. It was a great performance opened first by Ravi Shankar's Orchestra. George was strained in his vocals due to a cold virus on this tour but he pulled through admirably anyway. - Mark Seibold, Portland OR - search my name for images from the concert as I see Youtube does not allow linked addresses.
@ardee1980 Just for the heck of it--me too! There were two shows actually and I went to both! I was in Northwestern at the time. I don't know if you recall but Ravi Shankar started the show. About 3 years ago I met Ravi out here in CA and told him I had seen him at this show in Chicago with George. His eyes lit up and he said what an enjoyable time they had together on that tour. Was that place called the Stadium?? I know it was on the west side down Madison I think :)
This is a crying shame, if due to the limits of 8mm film this is all there is? I mean one can hardly even begin to tell what tune it is and then it's to another, the last past I have no idea, otherwise it is quite good quality! I saw Harrison at The Forum in Inglewood, Ca. I was 15. At a McCartney show at Anahiem Stadium there was a guy who claimed he recorded the Harrison show I saw, so I was begging him to get a copy (I have a a lot to trade with), but he wouldn't budge.
I just thought of something. I think George was trying to do what Dylan did in concerts, that is change the compositions of his songs. Maybe that's why he got such bad reviews. Who cares what the critics say.
@theOldFriar dvd?lucky there were fans taking movies on 8 mil. i dont know why more 70s concerts werent recorded.the networks were not taking this historic rock era seriously back then.sleeping at the wheel i guess.that would never happen now.

George is/was a gentle and quiet genius, listen to his lead guitar work. His voice was shot but his guitar sang for him...

Where did this come from? I was there and had to drive back to Indy in a driving snow storm.

I attended the second show in Chicago that night. I haven't seen any videos from the second show. Greatest concert that I've ever attended.

I would love to hear more. I wanted to go to the show in NY but my brother or parents wouldn't buy a ticket! I envy you!
