@MrSLPCamaroSS actually the l99 is different yet than the denali engine. the denali has 3 more hp, doesn't require premium and also doesn't have cylinder deactivation like the l99 does.

I don't know if they offered this in the 2010 but, did you use the paddle shifters on the steering wheel (for autotrans) and turned off the traction control? This makes a big difference...big difference.

@mroachie well to be fair the zl1's competition is the gt500. But I am glad the coyote 5.0 is so excellent because competition is good in the car world. When GM updates the camaro next it will likely have the edge over the mustang....and it will continue to go back and forth like that. its just means better cars for us...plus the fact that they are american muscle makes it that much better.

I think that chevy just way under tuned the 6.2. I mean ford is getting the same hp out of a 5.0 that is 1.2 ltr smaller then the chevy. you should be able to get more from the 6.2

@duty5000 As a chevy fan, new camaro is not a camaro. Myself (owned two, 85 and 89) and a buddy (78 and 69) both agree.
However, I am a chevy guy... and I drive a 99 TA now. Pontiac made sexy 4th gens. At the end of the day though, they are almost the same exact damn car. Same parts on both except minor differences (SS hood vs ram air on 4th gens, etc.)
So hating on a camaro vs a trans am doesnt make much sense, theyre equally the same car except for trim and a few minor things.

I have a 23,000 mile ws6 m6 bone stock and I've raced 2 2010 SS Camaros. One from a 20 roll I had a full ass tank and he was sitting right next to me dead even to 80 or 90 after that On the tollway the ws6 pulls. I'm assuming due to my ram air ;)
Unfortunately the new camaros are heavy and for the power they make, its just enough to keep them about as fast as the 01-02 camaro SS and TA WS6... Kinda sad as I'm a huge fan and was very disappointed in their track times when they came out... As this video shows it only takes a few bolt ons to crush a new LS3 camaro with an older LS1 car...

As for the 2011 z06 no being even close to the 2011 gt...do some research. as per chevy and for site. chevy hp/tq 505/470 ford 402/377. curb weight chevy/ford 3175/3605. so the z06 has a little over 100 hp and has a little less then 500 lbs on the gt. so i would say the z06 won.

@reverseoreo08 I know that you cannot compare the stang to the z06. as I said i thought you were calling the stang a super car, and if you were then to put it up against the vette. although the 2011 C6 non z06 and the 2011 gt would be a good race seeing as there is only about 30hp/tq difference and about 50 tq. I think that chevy just way under tuned the 6.2. I mean ford is getting the same hp out of a 5.0 that is 1.2 ltr smaller then the chevy. you should be able to get more from the 6.2

@duty5000 As a chevy fan, new camaro is not a camaro. Myself (owned two, 85 and 89) and a buddy (78 and 69) both agree.
However, I am a chevy guy... and I drive a 99 TA now. Pontiac made sexy 4th gens. At the end of the day though, they are almost the same exact damn car. Same parts on both except minor differences (SS hood vs ram air on 4th gens, etc.)
So hating on a camaro vs a trans am doesnt make much sense, theyre equally the same car except for trim and a few minor things.

I have a 23,000 mile ws6 m6 bone stock and I've raced 2 2010 SS Camaros. One from a 20 roll I had a full ass tank and he was sitting right next to me dead even to 80 or 90 after that On the tollway the ws6 pulls. I'm assuming due to my ram air ;)

Unfortunately the new camaros are heavy and for the power they make, its just enough to keep them about as fast as the 01-02 camaro SS and TA WS6... Kinda sad as I'm a huge fan and was very disappointed in their track times when they came out... As this video shows it only takes a few bolt ons to crush a new LS3 camaro with an older LS1 car...
