That is the elevator. As remember, you go once around the diable, then put lots of spin on it. Then, keep the string far away vertically, then let te diable go straight up.

Im sorry swphill, but I do a little, but Im pretty sre it is wooden sticks and a standad string that most people use. If you look closely, it is not "plastic" strings or any sort. Im so sorry, but I am not in this video so I cannot help you much. But thanks for the support!
